"Soupdragon, did i mention that i've seen torchwood already?"

I assume the video/DVD is in the post to me as we speak?

SoupDragon · 13/10/2006 11:34

(and imagine my delight when BabyDragon was discovered to be chewing a dried up bit of sweetcorn at the HVs. Especially when I was explaining why she'd dropped percentiles on the weight chart because of a reluctance to wean... She's only 91st now )

Marina · 13/10/2006 12:02

I read that as 91 stone soupy!

lilibet · 13/10/2006 12:07

What makes it not suitable for 9 year olds?

Mine can't wait and he will be gutted if ds1 can watch it and he can't?

Marina · 13/10/2006 12:20

Don't know for sure lilibet but what makes Russell Davies so appealing to me is his twinkly-eyed camp humour. It stayed just about OK for small children in Dr Who but I expect that as Torchwood is post 9pm the scripts will be saucy at times. I think the BBC tends to use the watershed appropriately, and would want maximum viewing figures, so I expect that both the gore and the smut will be much more evident. Am much more bothered by gore than smut personally

lilibet · 13/10/2006 12:21

I don't mind a bit of smut after 9pm

TheBlairAitchProject · 13/10/2006 13:35

the first ep is pretty tame, apart from someone's throat getting ripped out. good jokes from captain jack, especially in the rain. but judging by the ads it does look to get more gory... it's a tape and watch later job i'd say.

nikkie · 14/10/2006 20:55

Does anyone know if it will be on BBC1 or just 3?
Do I need to take a digibox on holiday so I can watch it?

SoupDragon · 15/10/2006 09:34

Very kind AItch but thenI'd have to wait ages for the rst of the series so it's a no win situation

TheBlairAitchProject · 15/10/2006 14:16

well, that would be true were it not for the fact that i will be getting ep 2 next week. and so on and so on and so on... expect quite a few smug posts from moi!

John Barrowman, gore and smut...

TheBlairAitchProject · 15/10/2006 17:52

actually, have been thinking about the gore content and it does feature somebody shooting themselves in the head at one point.

nikkie - not ignoring your scheduling question but I have been trying to find out, and I just don't have a definitive answer yet from the chaps over at the Dr Who forum.

The BBC keep messing around with the scheduling - seems it may even be 10pm now and not 9pm, and the whole BBC1/3 thing is very unclear. There is even a rumour about it being on BBC2!

UnquietDad · 15/10/2006 22:04

Update from DW!: trailer after Jane Eyre tonight said next Sunday (22nd) at 10.00pm on BBC3.

TwoIfByScream · 15/10/2006 22:36

I have in my hand the first two episodes of Lost series 3. It does pay sometimes to have a very good friend living in America.

So will dts age nearly 5 be able to watch this or is it going on later in the tv schedule? They love daleks and cybermen, not at all scared of the Doctor Who finale. Were more on the side of the baddies which is worrying.
