susiedaisy · 10/11/2014 22:42

Marking place. Excellent title Grin

mumwithanipad · 10/11/2014 22:43

I missed a little as my internet started playing up at 9pm grrrr.
Did The Action Mans wife and children leave because they were scared of him? I wondered if she had left him before the zombie thing, and didn't like the thought of having to be back with him so took their chance with the zombies. My sister has it recorded so I'm gonna try try watch the full episode tomorrow instead of broken up chunks.

hopefulpuffin · 10/11/2014 23:00

It was about time Eugene came clean. I thought maybe he was a smart janitor at some university or lab so picked up enough lingo to sound plausible.

I felt bad for Abraham. I agree that his family were more scared of him than the zombies and Eugene came just at the right time. Abraham meds a mission.

I agree there's something up with his hand. I'm not a church-goer - could it be somehow Biblical?

Monroe · 10/11/2014 23:04

AWimbaWay phew, that's one marriage saved at least.

I really enjoyed that one. No idea why, but I did.

Eugene came along just when he needed something to believe in, and he just fell into his protector role. Rude, that was exactly what I was thinking, Eugene turning up gave him a purpose which is why he is so pissed off to find out it's all a load of bollocks.

I have a couple of random thoughts. It's much easier to see if you turn all the lights off and watch it in the dark.

If I'm getting jiggy with anyone post apocalypse I'm keeping on as much clothes as possible in case of flesh chomping zombies bursting through the door at any minute.

blondes I agree about the facial hair. I always wonder why Glenn is so clean shaven.

Monroe · 10/11/2014 23:07

And I didn't see the trailer. I record and watch it later and it always cuts out just as next week's trailer starts. What did I miss? If it's not too spoilery?

DorisIsALittleBitPartial · 10/11/2014 23:12

Well, there's a surprise, Eugene confesses all and isn't a scientist.
I liked Abraham's backstory, gives his blinkered approach new meaning. It saved him and he needed that - made him feel like a Real Man. To go with that Real Man moustache he's rocking.
I know it goes against the point of the show but I'm getting a bit bored of the zombie killings now - it's too easy. Group of zombies, few head shots and they all die. Job done. There's no tension there anymore. Maybe it's just me?
Next week looks good though!

RudeBarbandCustard · 10/11/2014 23:14

Hmm maybe Ginger Joe has something special about his blood, and it will turn out he's the cure all along. Doubt it though, they're not going to cure that thing for a few good series yet.

The trailer just focussed on Daryl, Carol, action, cars with white crosses....

Monroe · 10/11/2014 23:23

Yes, there's something going on with his hand.

I still don't understand why Glenn felt obliged to commit him and Maggie to going with GGI Joe. They'd barely travelled together but have spent St least a year with Rick and the others Confused

BingoBonkers · 10/11/2014 23:34

Perhaps the bleeding hand represents the times he beat his wife? I got the feeling he knocked her about a bit.

Tallalime · 10/11/2014 23:44

I think the bleedin hand represents the 'wounds he has that just won't heal'.

I much preferred this weeks episode to last week. Though I am wondering when I started to love Tara more than Maggie and Glenn. She's so sweet.

I watched the Talking Dead (where they basically talk about the latest episode with guest stars) and read the comics so I know that Abrahams wife and little girl were supposed to have been raped by the men he bashed to death with canned goods. I figured his wife basically comitted suicide by zombie Sad

I actually really felt for him. This was, I think, my second fave episode this season. The actor really sold Abe's misery and desperation for something to live for.

And I Grin at all the mullet talk - Pat Sharpe would deffo survive the zompocalypse.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 10/11/2014 23:55

I bloody knew Eugene was bullshitting. And I haven't seen it yet. Have seen a few spoilers on fb but they just confirmed my suspicions.

Will watch it tomorrow when NowTV catches up.

And then more Daryl, pleeease? Grin

BananaHammocks · 11/11/2014 06:07

What was going on with all the zombies in the distance when they were walking down the road?? We're they in cages or something? Was watching it on my laptop and couldn't see properly!

MirrorMirror · 11/11/2014 06:14

I wondered about that too Banana and I was watching on tv!

Figster · 11/11/2014 06:20

It's been so bloody obvious he was lying say the day he showed up Angry

Hairylegs47 · 11/11/2014 06:33

Ok, been following the thread.
My TV is censored so any thing remotely sexual is cut - kicking head is is ok, DTD is not.
Was Ginger Action Man perving ? All I get was a blank screen - I thought the TV was bust.

MirrorMirror · 11/11/2014 07:03

It was Eugene doing the perving and Ginger Action Man dtd!

RudeBarbandCustard · 11/11/2014 08:08

Ginger action man announced to Glenn he was 'going to get some ass', then cue sexscene with Gi Jane, with Eugene staring at them over the shelf. They knew Eugene was watching and didn't mind. Wrong on so many levels!!!

AWimbaWay · 11/11/2014 08:19

"I think the bleedin hand represents the 'wounds he has that just won't heal'." I think you're right Tallalime, I hadn't thought of it like that.

What do you all think they'll do now? Carry on to Washington anyway? That'll be where the rest of the group head now won't it after Abraham gave Rick the map.

Abra1d · 11/11/2014 08:22

rainierland is an illegal site if you are in the UK, btw.

I don't understand why the group doesn't come up with a decent code they can use when they split up. The town where last night's people spent the night (in the bookshop) could have been a good staging point. You'd think they'd have come up with some kind of secret marking to tell the others that they'd spent a safe night there and were proceeding on the next morning and where to watch out for walkers, etc, where there might be food.

And then some kind of marking on the road when they reached the walker-swarmed town and were going to turn round. Some kind of code saying they'd turned south and perhaps hinting at the trouble with Eugene/Abraham.

And a birdcall or whistle or codeword they use when they're emerging from the dark or the woods to ID themselves.

AWimbaWay · 11/11/2014 08:23

I asked Dh last night if he thought he'd be good in a ZA situation, he said yes as he already wants to start hoarding tinned foods in the loft (we don't do that btw, so would actually be rubbish in ZA situation) and is quite good at climbing things Hmm

Gr33dyeggs · 11/11/2014 08:34

Hi all! I'm relatively new to MN but have been an avid fan of TWD for years.
I didn't think last night's episode was that clear - from reading other sites I understand Abes family had been raped by the people in the store which was why he went mental.
As for the cages / town apparently its a massive cattle holding ground.

ApocalypseNowt · 11/11/2014 08:44

AWimbaWay Glad to hear your dh is back and caught up!

I felt bad for Abraham after his back story - Eugene definitely came along at the right time though to give him a purpose/reason to carry on.

I was wondering if Abraham had been bitten on the hand and that was why he didn't want to rest or detour...because he knew he only had so long left so wanted to get Eugene as close to DC as he could?

Also I think the zombies in fields was meant to be an army base or camp thing where people had been sent when the ZA all kicked off? I'm sure one of them mentioned the weapons or supplies they might find there?

guaranteedpersonality · 11/11/2014 08:46

And then Tara watched briefly too. Grin

I liked the episode too - and Glen's deadpan comment about the hair was hilarious. Though the scene with the zombie flesh liquifying under the pressure of the hose was a bit gross.
