Did anyone else enjoy this as much as I did? I'm not really a telly addict, so much stuff that's on seems such a waste of time - but this was great!
Perry's a genius, I think. His insights into the identity crises of Chris Huhne, Rylan, Kayleigh and Jaz were fascinating and intriguing. I was so moved by the delicacy with which he treated the situation of the young transgender man, his mother's grief, and the exquisite Benin bronze statue (homage to Peter Pan) which emerged in response at the end. And as for Chris ('Teflon') Huhne! -
- well there is somebody who seems completely impervious to personal remorse/ insight into himself - (or maybe he's just someone who has put up massive and sophisticated barriers against the rest of humanity) - it was staggering how he simply refused to display the slightest shred of vulnerability (except, that is, when Perry asked him to show him his prison tag!
). I though it showed a lot about the man, that, when he saw his final artwork 'portrait' (a pot, cracked and then reassembled) the first thing he noticed was the gold infilling the cracks...not the cracks themselves....!
Thank you Grayson for your mischief, wit and talent - I can't wait for the other 2 parts of this documentary.
