I'm not sure if I should continue watching.

I've heard really great things, but I'm not sure if its the programme for me. I watched series 1 and thought it was good, but not amazing. It was a bit too violent for me and I didn't like the moral dilemmas of the killings. I thought that was quite awful.

I'm on s2 ep7. The ex girlfriend came to visit the family and Walter was so awful to her and the Jessie in the druggies house with the cash machine bit and that poor child. I'm a bit bored of all the lies and the character he's becoming. If I haven't been amazed this far should I jut stop watching it, or just start series 3 and try and catch up or just stop and watch something else instead.

Did anyone else feel his way and grow to love it, or I'd you love it from the start?

I have got to exactly the same episode as you, and likewise I am finding it hard to watch any more. It's just so depressing and unhappy - not funny like Season 1 was. I think I may come to the same conclusion as you - I do want Jesse to be ok but I know it will be a loooooong time before that happens (and lots of misery and death to sit through Sad).

I watched such a graphic scene in series 5 last night, I felt a bit faint.

I still really like it.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/06/2014 10:14

The fact Walt kept Jessie alive is the only thing that redeemed him tbh imo. In reality he would've been killed very early on, in fact that was what the writer originally wrote. My favourite characters were Brendan and Skinny PGrin

Youdontneedacriminallawyer · 25/06/2014 10:28

What DameDiazepam said really - there's a lot more to the series than just the story.

I loved the bit where Gus leaves the nursing home (you'll know what I mean if you've reached that far). That was brilliant!

Fargo is a pretty good replacement series - last one was Sunday, but it will be available on catch up, Netflix etc I should think. That's pretty bloody and violent too though, so if you don't like that aspect of BB - avoid!

waterducksback · 25/06/2014 11:22

Nothing compares? Oh No!

FreckledLeopard · 25/06/2014 11:26

I just finished watching the final episode last night and am distraught that it's finished. I was hooked from the first episode, though, and it's hand-on-heart the best thing I've ever watched.

If you're not gripped now, then I somehow doubt you will be. But maybe watch til the end of Season 2 and then decide.

Rollergirl1 · 25/06/2014 16:50

DH and I have just finished S1 and are on to S2. We both like it and will deffo watch it all (although 5 series with 13 episodes each??!). But I have to say I prefer Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, neither of which are on at the moment. Sad.

I'm just waiting for the 2nd series of Utopia to start and then I shall be ridiculously happy.

ClaudetteWyms · 25/06/2014 21:33

I agree with those saying if you really dislike it thus far, you might as well give up and watch something else. I think the episode with the meth addicts' child is very dark, but there are other very dark ones to come. And plenty of violence as well. I was ho hum about series 1, found some of 2 quite dull, then it just got better and better (for me).

For those suffering withdrawal, can I also suggest The Sopranos, The Wire, and The Shield. They all have baddies who are good/goodies who are bad etc. and really interesting complex characters.

If you've seen them all (like me) there is no hope

MarshaBrady · 26/06/2014 21:09

Who is the sibling connection? Walt and Marie or Skyler and Marie?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/06/2014 21:50

Skyler and Marie are sisters.

Guy is an amazing character. Old guy in wheel chair is amazing, reminded me of a Tarantino character.

Miss, miss, missSad

Thanks Dame.

We're getting close to the end. I think it's the best series I've watched.

Just did the train one, each episode is jam packed.

Just going to pop my head back in and recommend Orphan Black to all those looking for a new series. It's brilliant!

waterducksback · 27/06/2014 19:27

Orphan Black - off to check it out. Thanks!
