Anyone watching this?

It's brilliant.

One of my husband's German colleagues talked to me once about the importance of humour in British business culture - he said it was something he had to learn when he came to work here. He said 'Honestly, if Germans had the British sense of humour I don't think Hitler would have got anywhere'.

It must have been difficult for families who had different political ideals. My grandmother was married to a Jew. Thankfully they came to England well before the war. However, my great uncle (I can't remember whether he was her brother or brother-in-law) was a Nazi. A lot of my grandfather's relatives ended up in concentration camps and I can't begin to imagine what it was like for them.

I meant they might have partly been avoiding the sensitivities of the West because it is a better market to sell the programme to. The discussion was very interesting. I felt sorry at first for the German director, it looked like he might get ganged up in, but it was good

Yes, I understand that; I just don't think I agree it was a major factor at all. But I might be wrong. Smile
