They were all at it tonight. I'm sick of seeing twentysomethings with their firmness being rubbed into my face. I feel all frumpy and judgey. I mean, is there any need for it?

I completely agree.

Lighthousekeeping · 25/02/2014 10:06

I don't even think it's the nudity anymore. I've got immune to it. It's the self indulgence of the show in general. Ps SJP had it written into her contract no nudity. To be they aren't acting they are just them selves . Poor little rich girls. I only like the blokes in it. Who ever said I need to stop watching is right. I've moaned about it enough, I think I'm probably just too old for it. I can't relate to all the hipsters mooching around Brooklyn. I actually couldn't when I visited either!!

I like the fact that Hannah isn't anorexic, she's a healthy weight and has lots of curves and flabby bits.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 25/02/2014 11:01

You do make me laugh lighthouseGrin

Lighthousekeeping · 25/02/2014 11:22

I was never just talking about Hannah btw.

I don't relate to 20-something hipsters living in NY and I wouldn't expect to.
I think its terrific TV though. I find the dialogue witty and the characters interesting. It has a different feel to shows that are aspirational - like Sex and the City.
I like that 'looking pretty' isn't an obsession either with the characters or the camera angles. I think that IS unusual.

IrnBruTheNoo · 25/02/2014 16:16

It's as far removed from my own life as it possibly could be and that's why I enjoy watching it. It's something I will never experience so I'm living through Lena Dunham's creation!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/03/2014 23:27

Has Hannah moved apartment?Confused

Lighthousekeeping · 09/03/2014 22:50

It looks bigger. I like that her bf has a part. Did not like the bikini. Sorry.

I love the nudity. Although it sometimes occurs in sex scenes Hannah (Lena Durham) especially, is exhibiting her OWN body how she sees fit with absolutely no intent to portray herself as a sexual object, she's reclaimed the naked body and showed that it doesn't have to be used to sexually excite. How often do you see that in mainstream entertainment? Er never!

Sparklysilversequins · 09/03/2014 22:58

Oh and I am SO glad Eli is back Grin. I love him.

The dance routine last week was fantastic.

Lighthousekeeping · 09/03/2014 23:31

Why did she have the bikini on all the way through it though? Loved the dance routine too. Richard E Grant plays his part perfectly. I did pee myself at the singing.

Why not?Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 10/03/2014 11:20

Because really it must have got chilly when the sun went down!

OP posts:
Lighthousekeeping · 10/03/2014 11:22

Anyway, I'm beyond the nudity now. Clearly I'm an old fuddy duddy so I won't bat an eye anymore.

OP posts:
DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 10/03/2014 11:26

Ha ha haGrin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 10/03/2014 11:27

I did a small cheer when she wore itGrin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/03/2014 09:34

Last night's episode was fantastic, so true to life with all the arguing.

Dishing out the drugs round the tableGrin Grin Grin Grin

I cried, big snotty tearsSad

Lighthousekeeping · 11/03/2014 09:46

I thought it was the best one yet. And I didn't miss the sex and naked bodies.

It was bloody brilliant! All that hanging around the hospital,I did that last week so felt very real to me.

Adam was so lovelySmile

Sparklysilversequins · 11/03/2014 14:11

"What's Hannah going to do with an engagement ring?"

"She's going to wear it on her fuuuurrking finger when she gets engaged!"

GrinGrinGrin Literally couldn't stop laughing.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/03/2014 14:13

I know that was genius!!! Grin

It really was the best ever episode, so well written!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/03/2014 14:15

So what do we think about Adam, was the mum talking about HAnnah's dad or does she really think Adam is wrong for Hannah? I hated him at first and now I think he's great apart from very suspect references to children during sex

Sparklysilversequins · 11/03/2014 14:32

She's taking about her own marriage and regrets, I don't think it's about Adam at all.

Sparklysilversequins · 11/03/2014 14:34

I love Adam but I don't think it's going to be plain sailing, something big will happen between those two and I don't think it will be good. I think that's LD's thing isn't it? "Real life" nothing tweaked to give us a happy ever after.
