I didn't ever realise what utter trash GREY'S ANATOMY is!!

I missed this when it first came out, for some reason I thought it was a high brow medical drama-how wrong could I be?Grin

It's complete trash and I love it! It's on sky box sets atm, series 1-9, I'm on series 2 so farSmile

I can't bear Meridith, simpering girlie and doctor SheppardHmm love everyone else though!

If you need to catch up once the box sets disappear, use cokeandpopcorn a streaming service or watch series to do so. Greys is fab and after watching all of private practice I now quite like Addison but still find Callie irritating. Also loathed the whiny izzy and loved loved loved George. (Poor George)

Have loved this thread and agree that GA is utter tosh (good tosh, but tosh nonetheless). However, there are three ways in which I think it's admirably radical.

a) the men are tottier than the women. The women are rounded, interesting, varied, while the men are in the main sex objects. How often do you see a physically plain but interesting woman with a much younger, hotter husband. Step forward Bailey and husband #2. It's not just her either, it's almost all of them. Lexie and McSteamy, Jackson and anybody etc. Even the 'pretty' women are quite girl next door with varied body shapes. Where else do you see a woman with the shape of Callie dancing in her undies and presented as glorious?

b) it's colour blind. This is America where until recently mixed marriages were banned in some states (still maybe for all I know) and yet it's never an issue. I always feel that the scripts don't even specify what race someone is.

c) Christina Yang had an abortion. She didn't fall down some steps and conveniently have a hollywood miscarriage. She hasn't been punished forever for her decision. She didn't do it because she was destitute. She did it because, for her, her career was more important. She wished she hadn't had to have an abortion, but she doesn't regret it.

or am I taking it too seriously?

I think that's it exactly Play - love it! Other than Izzy, the rest of the females are very 'normal' - beautiful but not Hollywood beautiful.

I love Callie dancing in her underpants & was cross with George - there wasn't much about him & yet she was crazy about him & he treated her like crap & let Izzy do the same!

Really need to find PP & watch all of those!
