I should know as I stayed with a mormon family in Salt Lake City once upon a time when I was a teen. That family was super normal. Mum, Dad, Son & Daughter. The obligatory white picket fence. And a Labrador Retriever.

No, they are not normal Mormons.

They occupy the Four Corners area, where four states - Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico meet, although some have gone into Nevada. There are more than a few organisations dedicated to the fallout that comes with those who run away from polygamous communities.

No I know polygamous sects exist on the fringes of Mormonism. I read a book a couple of years ago, The 19th Wife, which featured a similar set up to the one in this programme.

Of course, the Warren Jeffs sect was extreme and broken up now.
