I watched this tonight on the i-player. Even my 12 year old was wincing.

6 weeks training and then send graduates into schools to take classes, including Y10/11 pupils who are studying for their GCSE's.

Not a channel 5 reality TV idea...this actually happens.

Just spotted the earlier comment about the Head picking up the 'glottal Stop'. Hmmm. If you listen to it the Head says 'gonna' and -I think -'prop'ly' in the very same discussion with Meryl. Here is the real problem in schools, Heads who, ignore the behaviour in the classrooms and hurry back to the Office/bunker to fill in a return for Whitehall.
If you want a teacher who will devote their life to children and put their heart into it for 40 years give Meryl a chance to learn her craft, glottal stop or not.

Well said Caspar99 - I really don't like that Head and although Meryl isn't that inspiring at the moment she is the only one who REALLY wants to teach for more than a couple of years before moving on. She needs all the help she can get, not constant negativity - though I appreciate we only see what the programme makers want us to see.
