Do you find the 'F' word funny? (comedy awards)

Don't know how many times it was said but whoever aid it seemed to raise a guffaw!

why is it 'cool' and funny to hear Lee Mack/Mitchell/Whitehall/Coogan et al say a 'naughty' word?

it seems so childish.

Or is it just me?

no need for it surely? youd never hear Morecambe and Wise/2 Ronnies/Les Dawson etc say that would you? watershed or not.

I'm really surprised that there is any element of 'cool' about it?
The Sex Pistols might have caused a stir with it on tv about twelfty million years ago but now, everybody's been there, done that, worn the tee-shirt. It's not cool, it's really quite tiresome.

I have to say, I gave up watching the Comedy awards years ago.
I just found it cringeworthy, everybody trying to out funny each other and largely failing.

Mind you I think I am largely out of touch with a lot of modern comedy anyway. I just don't get most of it.

oh Im the same.

dont get me started!I remember the days you could tell a 'Englishman irishman scot' joke without it being un-pc yet they can still make disablist/religious 'jokes'.

its the swearing really, why the need to be so crude? Im old, I know, but in the 'old' days they could do the duble entenedres (sp) without being downright crude, and the most sweary word was 'ruddy' or something.

The problem is that so many seem to think that shocking someone means they have a talent. I'm all for a good swear, but it should be used when Necessary, not just for the sake of it.

That said, I did snigger at Julian Clary's comment re Norman Lamont in 1993 (about the last time I watched it) - I admired his bravery for making such an outrageous comment!

Swearing can be funny in the right context.
However the Comedy Awards are never funny - just grim.

I didn't watch the comedy awards but I notice this at the cinema - the audience (and my husband!) tend to laugh when the F word is said in certain contexts.
