i am doing a free trial with tesco and just finised a free trial with amazon. they are much of a muchness. will probably go with amazon once i run out of free trials as i am sick of tesco ruling the world.

Me - lovefilm.com - they've been really good. For £9.99 a month I get an unlimited number a month (1 at a time). They also have packages where you can rent PS2 and PSP games, which I think would be handy if you had older kids (giving the cost of games new and how quickly you can get bored of them).

JonesTheSteam · 18/07/2006 19:50

I'm with Amazon as well and it's been ok so far - we had one film that they sent out wrong (102 Dalmatians - they sent 101 instead!) but it all got sorted out really easily.

Bonus is that if you buy any DVD you get a discount!

We use ScreenSelect and found them tons better than LoveFilm.

We pay £12.99 for unlimited number per month up to 2 at a time.

Another vote for Screenselect. They are very quick have a good selection and often send us our fav's- which at the mo are the "24" series, far cheaper than watching them once then using them as bookends , however, my Mum is currently testing out the Tesco???? version of this, same price plus you get clubcard points.(sounds good to me)

peachygirl · 18/07/2006 20:29

We use Screen Select and they are great. We pay about £10 and get one at a time but we send them back quite quick so get 4 or sometimes more a month. It means we also see stuff we might not see at the cinema, like foreign/ arthouse films and crap rom coms!
Recently I had 'before sunrise' and 'before sunset' one after another and really enjoyed watching them both so close together

We use Amazon. I don't know how it compares to others, but the best thing about using it is the choice. We use it more to catch up on TV series than to watch films e.g. I never saw Firefly when it was on. Its also great for old films. I haven't been in a video shop for ages, but the thing that annoyed me was that they had 20 different copies of the latest film and alot of straight to video, but not much else inbetween.

Tutter · 19/07/2006 12:04

blockbuster. £13 a month for 3 dvds in rotation (i.e. as many as you want, but only 3 at a time). happy with the service - fast, and films always available.

Bomper · 19/07/2006 13:41

We use Tesco's. It's very cheap, £7.00 a month and you can have unlimited films during that time. We usually get two in a week, so one for midweek, then one for the weekend. They're dead good.

Iklboo · 19/07/2006 13:43

We use Sainsbury's. £11 a month for 3 at a time I think. It's been really good so far

cupcakes · 19/07/2006 13:43

I use Amazon. Had occasional problems but they've been really quick to rectify them.

Have been very slack this past month and haven't watched my film so it has effectively cost me £5.99 for the rental of one film...

suejonez · 19/07/2006 13:51

I use amazon, very quick to rectify the one problem I have had (film too scratched to watch). I put about a gazillion films on my list and won;t have to update for a while.

franch · 19/07/2006 19:05

We're thinking of easycinema for the reason cupcakes mentions - some months we'll prob only manage one or two films and easycinema charges by the film (£1.99) rather than by the month - anybody tried them?

No easycinema subscribers then - maybe I'll have to be the guinea pig ...
