as students, me & dh (this was before we were married) went to liberty's so i could go to the haberdashery department and we got followed around by security guards. we must have looked really dodgy!

nipersvest, you obviously weren't wearing £500 shoes! I thought the woman who bought the reindeer looked pretty scruffy. Obviously stonkingly rich enough to afford said reindeer and apparantly would need to ship it out to Canada.

I love this store and I go every time in in London. I discovered the kids department last time and spent a fortune.

I have got a Liberty leather pig. I love the building even more than its contents!

I am so disappointed this is over. Series much too short!

invicta · 20/12/2013 17:20

The last episode made me laugh - all the men were so camp! Also, the events manger looked to young to organise such a big event.

southeastastra · 20/12/2013 21:07

i saw the general manager on the creaky stairs, he was really friendly, saying hello to everyone. Grin i do like the campness of some of the staff. i was looking at the shu uemura eyeshadows and an assistant sort of popped up behind the counter to help me, he was very funny and helpful though.

will also really miss the show! they should commission a longer series.

I couldn't resist going in today. Tons of people of course but there was a civilised atmosphere and I was reminded of how much I live most if what they sell. Bought some posh chocs as a present and vowed to go back again after Christmas.

I enjoyed the first series and am watching the new series. What disappoints me though is that despite being staffed by many many women, the top positions are filled by men: store manager, buyers and general manager. Ok, there's the new comms woman in this new series.

Why are women so under-represented at the highest level? Sad

I read somewhere that gay men dress women. I thought it meant fashion designers but, in Liberty they actually do right down to the shop floor! I have no qualm with this however, I agree there does seem to be a lack of females all around. Unless they don't make good telly.
