It's a bit of a bonkers selection, but I'm getting into the habit of checking the schedules for BBC2 Sat and Sun around 6am to see what's on offer. The Mouse that Roared was on today, not watched it yet.

Would love to know if today's teens can get anything whatsoever from old movies nowadays, apart from cringing at out dated attitudes. On the plus side there is often lots of heart and humour and some great snappy dialogue too.

The Mouse That Roared is great, I've got it in DVD. I have noticed those films are on and they are quite random. Say there us nowhere to find classic films in one place. TCM has become the Western channel, Film4 sometimes has some. I have just ordered a few classics to give to DZh to give me for Xmas. I think younger people can get something out of them if you can get them to stick with them. DD is only 10 and she has enjoyed Sullivan's Travels, Night of the Demon, Singin' In The Rain and some others. I want to try her on The Rebel (the only good thing Tony Hancock ever did IMO), The Women, All About Eve etc

I don't know how long BBC2 are going to do it for, Blue but most of them are worth a try at least.

Yes Davros old films seems to have morphed into mainly western and war films to programme schedulers. All About Eve has to be a timeless classic which Film4 do show now and again, so well done them. I don't know if I could have understood it at 10, but 10 today is prob equivalent 15 when I was growing up!!

I watched old films A LOT from when I was quite young, definitely from at least 10. My theory is that, in those days, there were only 3 channels so we watched anything that was vaguely promising. Although, come to think of it, my friends didn't get hooked on classic films like I did….
