I meant Mark in trouble - doh! It was planned for Bruce not to do this week hopasholic. I think he didn't do the weekend before Wembley last year.

I'm quite fond of Brucie - but I think it's time for him to go now.
It's all a bit tired and formulaic with him compering - Tess and Claudia did a good job tonight IMO.

Ridiculous scoring from Darcey Maryz

mrsjay · 09/11/2013 21:03

oh maryz i had a long rant about you not liking suzannah then read on I feel the same meh way about fiona too she is ok but ... I think mark was rubbish tonight and might not be safe unless he is in the bottom with dave he will go , he didnt really do anything I know he is a husky fella Grin but he could have moved a bit more although he was probably struck dumb by the cat suit which was sprayed on

digerd · 09/11/2013 21:05

Fiona was disappointing tonight, but I liked Anton's spanish dancer posture shapes even if he did go wrong with the steps. Very impressed compared to his lame Charleston last week.

mrsjay · 09/11/2013 21:22

yes I like anton and I like fiona but they are not exciting me I tend to forget she is there a bit like Ben

Listmaker · 09/11/2013 22:11

I would really like Dave to go tonight. Really think his time is up now. He's not even funny now just bad!

If not Dave Fiona can go! Mark wasn't great but the Rumba is hard for someone like him. I'd like to see him dance another week or too though with a more fun dance. Or ballroom.

Once these three are gone it could get interesting!

Agree that it was soooo much better without Bruce. So hope they retire him after this series but I say that every year!

RedPencils · 09/11/2013 22:15

The vt of Natalie was a bit Hmm. Why didn't they just show a video of them rehearsing rather than her crying on the floor? I know it was a only for a few seconds but even so. I hope it's nothing serious.
I liked Patrick although a 10 was too much, he nearly dropped her at the end.

HellesBellesThinksSometimes · 09/11/2013 22:54

Just caught up on iplayer.

Ashley and Abbey, I thought were very close but I would slightly give Abbey the edge.

Patrick's fumble at the end stopped him joining them - that and his awkward left arm.

Mark's worst week but Dave's best. Felt that fiona was held back by anton.

Ben did really well in the jive, I thought. I exepected far worse. Though those knees could have been higher, I thought he did a very fast routine rather well.

Dave should be in the dance-off joined by either mark or fiona.

HellesBellesThinksSometimes · 09/11/2013 22:56

Oh dear! Forgot about Susannah!

DaveBussell · 09/11/2013 23:39

Dave wasn't any more dire than Mark so I would be happy for either of them to go.

I was gutted not to see Natalie's jive, it's my fave dance and there hasn't been a really good one yet. Maybe she's been getting too intense about it all and that's what's causing the health issues. I don't mind if she doesn't win - which she won't - but I want to enjoy watching her dancing up to the final. She's the best 'trained' celeb they have had imo, better than DVO last year, much more spirited and expressive.

Agree mad marking for Ben, ludicrous of Craig to give 4 and ludicrous of Len to give 8 - I had the impression he was going to give his standard 7 and changed it at the last moment.

I love Abbey but they have really got to stop with all the stuff about her little girl, it looks really crass and desperate.

AndiMac · 09/11/2013 23:44

How Darcey could give Patrick a 10 after the mess there at the end? Even if the rest of it was great. Unless it wasn't at all his fault, I don't know enough to say if it was or not.

Really liked Susanna's waltz, and I'm not one for most of the ballroom dances. It was easily my favourite this week.

Ashley was good, Abbey was good, Sophie was good (but agree she'd be better if she didn't hold back due to one assumes nerves).

Ben was ok, good for his size at the jive, but more good choreography by Christina. Fiona was alright, I thought she did pretty well at the old Paso, certainly better than others I've seen this year!

Mark had a hard time with what I think is the hardest dance for the men. You're just there to make the woman look good and there's not a lot to show the audience. I imagine he'll be in the bottom 2. Having said this, I think he's actually quite good. He doesn't cut the fantastic figure with his partner the way Abbey and Ben do, so I think he gets marked down for simply not looking as pretty as the others. But his paso last week had far more shaping in my untrained eye than Ben's did. (But I did appreciate the view Ben, thanks!).

Ah Dave. Please go home. I love you, but I want to watch the better dancers stay.

I do wonder about Natalie. Figured it was just not eating enough until they said the bit about the hospital. Hope she's ok.

digerd · 10/11/2013 08:07

AndiMac

Agree about Dave in his Paso last week, but this week just didn't work for him. The Rumba is the hardest for the men but was still impressed with Ben's purely by his expressiveness and he is no actor.
Mark also did a stylish Waltz, Dave does not impress me at all in any way.
Hope Natalie will be OK to dance at Blackpool.
Think judges gave Patrick high marks to try to keep him out of the bottom 2 .

digerd · 10/11/2013 08:08

*Mark's Waltz", not Dave's.

digerd · 10/11/2013 08:09

And Mark's Paso , not woken up fully yet>

OodaresingingoftheDoctorDonna · 10/11/2013 09:42

If it came down to Dave & Mark who would go this week? I'd like to think Mark had the edge this week but there's not much in it.

Minimammoth · 10/11/2013 10:37

I too hope Dave goes. I thought the dances were much better this week, liked Abby, but she looked so nervous and on the edge afterwards. I think SEB is probably a really shy person a bit inhibited and needs to get close up and personal to be a winner.
The more I watch the more I think this is a really tough competition.
Love Tess and Caudia presenting.

ppeatfruit · 10/11/2013 10:57

I agree with O.P's about the intrusiveness of the cameras FGS BBC have some effing sensitivity poor Natalie Sad and Shock.

IMO Tess was a bit OTT as if she has to 'make up' for BF's planned absence; Zoe Ball is a fab. presenter and so is Claude.

And what were the judges on? That marking was mad sometimes.

I reckon that Darcey had a nose job before she became a ballerina because it's always seemed unnatural to me Grin. All the judges, maybe not Len, are totally botoxed etc. Grin When they pop their clogs their bodies will destruct but their faces will still be stuck at 21 !!

RedPencils · 10/11/2013 11:05

Just a warning about digital Spy. Someone's has created a spoiler thread with the name of the person going in the title. It hasn't been pulled by the mods yet either.

I think Patrick was very good but not a perfect 10 !

Tess looked lovely but was not better than Brucie (imo)as she stumbled when reading the autocue and made silly non funny jokes .I think they should replace Brucie not with Graham Norton though .

ppeatfruit · 10/11/2013 11:43

No not with Graham Norton pleeease Grin It's harder to think of a good looking male presenter with dance experience and personality than it is a female actually. Len is good replace him with Karen Hardy as a judge!!
