Don't know. Sorry.

bran · 30/06/2006 08:56

How far did you get before you fell asleep (it was a great ending btw)?

prettybird · 30/06/2006 09:00

Essentially it was all an hallucination and he relasied that the man with the tongue was just a vehicle for his mind to keep focussed - and that once he relasied that that case was no longer real, he would be able to get out of the hallunciantion.

It came back to reality with him being rushed to theatre just after having been shot in the neck and telling them that they should use Cadenium (or whatever the drug was caled that he accused Cuddy of using that had got rid of the pain).

And that's when it finished.

expatinscotland · 30/06/2006 09:01

House got capped. Now he can lose that fake American accent and go back to being English.

bran · 30/06/2006 09:04

It was a great episode (in parts), dh and I nearly POSL when the testicle exploded.

Katymac · 30/06/2006 09:05

What the blokes name?? I forgot

kalex · 04/07/2006 17:50

Hugh Laurie

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 17:56

ketamine (the drug)

tribpot · 04/07/2006 17:56

I have the ep recorded if anyone wants it!

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 17:57

I'll miss House. Was the TV highlight of my week

tribpot · 04/07/2006 18:08

It's still on, they're repeating it from the beginning of Series 2, in the Grey's Anatomy slot on Thursday night.

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 18:10

oh excellent!

(how is everything with you at the mo tribpot?)

tribpot · 04/07/2006 18:11

Much as normal, fox, been to see a rheumatologist today who said "I only saw the referral letter two days ago [it was sent in April] I can't do anything until I've found and reviewed your old files". Business as usual then, what a waste of everyone's time and the taxpayer's money. Wish House could help my dh, but he doesn't do chronic cases either.

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 18:13

poor you (and dh) - it's like a never ending circle isn't it

btw, I was reading something on the net the other day and I think there are certain rheumatologists who specialise in fibromyalgia (if that it is what he has). Are you in an area with good rheumatologists?

tribpot · 04/07/2006 18:15

So far we don't seem to be in a good area for any of the possible conditions dh has fox! (Bit harsh but I am spitting with anger after putting dh and ds through all that today). This bloke never gave any indication of whether he knew the first thing about fibro or not. Sweet.

How are things with you? Or have we drifted off topic enough that we should start a new one?

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 18:25

oh no, poor you

I have narrowed mine down to a period related thing. I now get lumps (like welts) over my knees, ankles and some of my fingers in the lead up to my period along with a sore throat. If it is very itchy (and sometimes it is and other times it is much more mild), I get little ulcers/blisters between the joints of my fingers. Once my period comes, the welts start to go away and a migraine comes for about 4 days.

It is most bizarre but I have totally given up on the GPs and will probably, at some point, try and see a private gynae to see if there's anything they could do.

I feel better about it because there seems to be a cause iyswim.

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 18:26

not ankles, meant elbows

tribpot · 04/07/2006 19:09

That is good news, fox. Not good as in 'ah yes, a cure is right around the corner as happens at the 40 minute mark in every episode of House' but good as in you have an avenue to explore and you can predict when things are going to be bad and work around it.

I don't have a lot of knowledge of period related conditions (one thing I haven't looked into for my dh!) but will have a look in my fibro book to see if it talks about supplements and so on that might be useful for period time.

The joint aspect does make me think rheumatology is worth pursuing still, but I think you will need to be referred by your GP, or go for one of those BUPA "GP" sessions and see what they say. How is the fatigue, does that seem to come and go with the menstrual cycle too?

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 19:36

yes I was thinking of one of those Bupa sessions. Thanks for looking stuff up. I really hope I am right and it is all period related - like you say, I guess it is either a condition that is made worse by menstruation (lots of possibilities still including fibro) or something caused by it (less possibilities but then probably, easier to cure). Remarkably, since I have been wearing ear plugs at night, I feel a lot less tired - not 100% better but a drastic improvement. I don't think I realised how badly dh's snoring was affecting the quality of my sleep.

Do you want me to look up those rheumatologists with a special interest in fibro?

foxinsocks · 04/07/2006 19:38

I feel so sorry and angry for you all . I wish I could wave a magic wand and just help you find one consultant who could get a handle on your dh's case.

tribpot · 05/07/2006 12:43

Cheers, fox. We have had some good news today, dh has been diagnosed with severe sleep apnoea, so it's possible he may get some help on the fatigue side soon. Needless to say, his snoring is so bad we have never spent the night in the same bed bar two occasions when he was on a combination of meds which miraculously stopped the snoring (but then it turned out the combination could cause psychosis, great). Will look out my fibro books and post a separate thread.
