Has anyone been keeping up with this series?

Me and DH have found it fascinating really. We must have started watching it in about 2002, waaaaay before we thought of having any children. We were still at uni!

Its so great to see how the children have changed and grown over the past 13 years. It's always such a nice surprise when it's on telly too as I forget about it every year and then it just pops up in the schedules and I look forward to finding out what's been going on in the past 12 months.

I wonder how long they will do it for, how old will the kids get before they've had enough??

This was a repeat wasn't it? I think I'm up to date so far. I found the last one extremely sad to be honest.

I love it. DS1 is a 'millennium baby' and the same age as all the kids on the programme. Its fascinating to watch them and how they have developed over the years.
I used to like the 7 up programmes too. I found the last one interesting that they nearly all ended up resenting the attention they got from the programme and only a few of them were willing to be on the show anymore. I wonder if the COOT kids will feel the same when they are adults.

Yes I think it's a repeat, I've always watched as DC 2 was born in 2000 so is the same school year.

Some of it was really sad this time, I also found it really interesting when they were 4/5 as I was having a really tough time with DS (he was eventually diagnosed with aspergers) and I related to the Irish boy who also ended up with that DX.

It's sad to see how many parents have separated and that lovely mum who died, the interview with her daughter made me cry,

I hope they keep on going with the programme, the teenage years will be interesting and they grow up so fast.

I watched it from the stary- I was the age they are now. I find it fascinating yet sad. They do all seem to be lovely though.

*start not stary, fat fingers on a small touchscreen

Oh it might have been a repeat but I had missed it the first time.

It was a sad episode but it's real life I suppose. It was a significant amount of seperations/divorces and the children all dealt with it very differently.

I started watching it in 2000 when I was a teen myself Grin I found the last episode about them growing up very sad too. Helena makes me laugh though, she is SO well-spoken and precocious, bless her.

Started watching it in 2000 as our first DS was born then .. Is it a repeat then ? As we missed the last update. Love seeing how they've all grown and changed and scares me how quickly the years have gone by !!

I love it!

I watched 7 up too, and for me the interesting thing was that so many of them refused to be interviewed in their 20's and 30's but they returned to be filmed aged in their 50's, and were quite philosophical.

The thing I like about the child of our time is that it is always surprising. The kids that have changed, the parents who I hoiked my judgey pants at in the beginning and now respect!
