I'm watching the first season of Sex and the City. It started off so well.

I haven't seen the first one for years but, there's just been a show about it on that intelligent channel E! So I thought I'd revisit. I think the first season was brilliant and that new show Girls isn't much different really. Except less flash.

God, I'm 31 again.

I remember the episode where Carrie got her diaphragm stuck and Samantha had to help her remove it. I first felt sad I had no female friends who would do that for me. Then felt glad I would never have to do that for a friend!

The friendship bits were, IMO, better than the relationship bits - eg when .Miranda gets pregnant when Charlotte can't.

I loved Bunny and Trey and I wished they'd stayed in it for longer. I loved the old socialite and her gay/straight husband, the show singer. I think she ended up pregnant?

Oh my. The Russian. I fell in love with him when I first saw him in a ballet book during my teens. When he turned up in SATC I was ecstatic (I was in my 30s by then and let's just say I was no longer obsessed with his pirouettes Wink ).

I have a great deal of love for the entire series except season 1 with its annoying pieces to camera bits. Paris was probably my favourite season and I think it was perfect that Carrie and Big ended up together.

Loved the first movie but cannot remember the second....although I know I have seen it.

Cannot abide Steve. He is a weaselly little man.

Favourite character: definitely Carrie. Probably because we both dress like toddlers let lose in the dressing up box Wink

Bunny and Trey were great.

I have something to confess. I have a sneaking affection for the second film. Oh, I totally see why it's grotesque in so many ways, but I do like Liza Minelli doing "All the Single Ladies" and the karaoke performance of "I am Woman, Hear me Roar". They should have just done it as a musical all the way through, like the Buffy episode "Once More With Feeling".

I wonder if SJP realised how annoying Carrie was?

I don't think so - I think she was aiming for kooky and identifiable.

Mr Big is the cheating State's attorney in The Good Wife.

Oh, oh, oh, do you remember Carrie's walk-in closest in the apartment she and Big bought when they got married.

Or was that in the 2nd movie whose existence must not be mentioned?

Walk in closet was in the first movie. Boy, would I love one of those.
