The woman chef is really bugging me.

Ruffello · 18/03/2013 20:02

Had she never seen GBM before? Where was the humour, presentation and culinary skills? She seemed totally out of place.

Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:11

Just catching up with this- luke is19????

Woman chef- really annoying.

MsNobodyAgain · 18/03/2013 20:11

She also looks like she needs a good wash. Yuk!

MsNobodyAgain · 18/03/2013 20:12

x-post. Just started watching also.

Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:14

Doesn't she? Is the thing this year for chef's to be grubby? It's been a recurring theme....Grin

Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:16

ds's godfather did a junior masterchef thing when he was young. He looked a lot like Luke.

MsNobodyAgain · 18/03/2013 20:19

I feel ANCIENT watching Luke.

If the woman gets through, I'll eat my scabby slippers.

OP posts:
Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:23

If I had slippers, i'd join you.

'Self taught' Mary-anne.

Please, do not let her get through!

Oodsigma · 18/03/2013 20:24

Can we only have one through this week?

Though the way this thread is going it'll be the woman!

MsNobodyAgain · 18/03/2013 20:25

She's very patronising.

OP posts:
Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:26

Nooooo- Ood- she is rubbish

Very disappointed in the Welsh mob,so far Sad

Oodsigma · 18/03/2013 20:28

But everyone we like doesn't get through :(

MsNobodyAgain · 18/03/2013 20:30

I want chicken now, but not with apple. Bleurgh!

OP posts:
Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:31

Ood true.

There must be better chefs in Wales -surely they are not the best of the bunch?

MsNobodyAgain · 18/03/2013 20:32

Lukes looks like a tin of cat food.

OP posts:
Raahh · 18/03/2013 20:33

None of it is funny.

Not a fake tomato/nose in sight.Grin

His scores were really harsh-but not surprised.

Oodsigma · 18/03/2013 23:19

Usually there's that Steven somebody who was on James Martins hospital food thing the other week, maybe he didn't enter this year?

Bilbobagginstummy · 19/03/2013 07:38

They must have been short of Welsh entrants!

Good grief.

ThePavlovianCat · 19/03/2013 08:25

Given that this year's brief has been poorly interpreted by the chefs, what brief would you give them next year to get the show back on track?

Raahh · 19/03/2013 09:42

I read that the restaurant James Sommerin (sp) worked in was recently forced to close, due to the recession i suppose. That maybe why he isn't competing. There are very few Michelin starred restaurants in Wales, think his was one of them.

And what happened to Bryn Williams?

Raahh · 19/03/2013 09:46

Steven Terry! He would have fit in really well- he was usually a bit scruffy. Grin and a bad loser.

This week's lot seem a bit amateur (though I'm sure they aren't). It's like masterchef- from the days when Lloyd grossman used to do it on a Sunday afternoon.

Raahh · 19/03/2013 09:50

Oh, Pavlovian- good question. I think it needs to be about the food, and not endless gimmicks. It would be good to see it aimed at children, too, I think- creating food that a 5 year old will eat without complaining- that's a tough briefGrin.

Can't think of any big events they could link to next year- the world cup??

MsNobodyAgain · 19/03/2013 10:24

Racing? Cheltenham or Ascot.

Or a dinner for critics and top chefs. No gimmicky stuff.

No horse meat though, MrsN

They did it for 'local hero' charity types the other year- I liked that idea- who gets to go to the RND banquet anyway? Recipients of the charity, or a bunch off over-paid comedians? (and Lenny HenryGrin)
