Wolf blood on cbbc - what age group is it for?

Ds1 wants to watch it as he reckons some of his friends do. He is 8, in yr 4. I caught him watching it and thought it didn't look like it was meant for his age group as the characters are all teenagers.plus it seems to be about werewolves? Ds2 is only 6 and would end up seeing it and probably getting scared.

Anyway, yes, do your children watch and how old are they?

My daughter is seven and its her new favourite show. She loves it, she 's not a bit scared at all when she watches it. But then again she is quite old headed! Lots of kids in her class watch doctor who but although she has seen the odd ep, she does find that a bit disturbing and I have had to switch it off on a number of occasions. Does yours watch doctor who? If yes, then Wolfblood would be no problem at all.

No to dr who. I think the story lines are too complicated for them to understand never mind the scary aspects of it so I don't see the point. They can wait a couple of years for that.

It's not scary. When they 'turn' it's into CGI wolves.

Yeah I agree re - doctor who, it gives me the creeps sometimes never mind my daughter! But still think Wolfblood would be ok for your 8 year old, its not scary. The main characters eyes change colour but the wolves are just cgi wolves not werewolf scary types. Not sure about your six year old though but just trust your instinct and you can't go wrong.

DD (8 and in Yr4) likes it although it's DS2(12) who's the big fan in our house (he loves Teen Wolf which is definitely not aimed at little kids!), but as the youngest of three she's used to watching things like Doctor Who so is used to mildly scary things.

According to the writer here, the show is aimed at 8-12yos, so your DS1 is within the range...

CurlyhairedAssassin · 03/10/2012 17:37

Thank you all! Cgi wolves? Just normal wolves. So no slavering monster evil looking things?

Hmmmm.... The writer says its for 8-12 years? Am softening here..... Grin

What are the storylines about? Is it teen romance stuff. Not prudish about such things, I just think that he would be inclined to think romance stuff is pants!!!!

Yeah they are just normal wolves not werewolf types. Actually there hasn't been any teen snogging at all, its mostly family issues. One main character is from a family of Wolfbloods the other is in foster care. Another character is convinced that there are wolf types on the moors and wants to find proof so its mostly about that really.

Mine are 8 and 5 and it is their new favourite programme. I have watched it with them and it's not too scary. I don't let them watch Dr Who though.

Ok. Thanks. It sounds fine. I will be World's Best Mum Ever when I tell him!

Thanks all!
