I am not very easily shocked.

But, WOW. This programme has shocked me.

ThePetiteMummy · 17/09/2012 22:14

Yep, shocking, that poor baby.

Empusa · 17/09/2012 22:16

Isn't a MNer on one of the teams that they filmed for this series?

I haven't seen tonight's episode yet, sounds like it should be interesting.

Catniss · 17/09/2012 22:19

It's interesting, eye opening and mind boggling. I can't believe that 3yr old was gone for over an hour before his mum noticed that he was gone.

Francagoestohollywood · 17/09/2012 22:21

I have. The policeman was lovely, the one concerned about the drunk woman's dd.

renaldo · 17/09/2012 22:22

Returning that baby with the head injury to its home
Depressing

ErrorError · 17/09/2012 22:23

I'm going to watch it some other time on 4od as I hate missing the start of programmes. Though I'm reliably informed by my friends' facebook updates that it's "full of absolute morons."

Catniss · 17/09/2012 22:23

Jeez, just watching the bit about the baby falling off the side, what on earth was it doing there in the first place, poor little mite.

OP posts:
renaldo · 17/09/2012 22:25

Paying 5£ for sex
Shock

Catniss · 17/09/2012 22:26

I stand corrected, leaving a baby to be looked after by children.

OP posts:
Catniss · 17/09/2012 22:27

Also, the people that are on the programme obviously agree to be filmed and shown, have they no shame?

FunnysInLaJardin · 17/09/2012 22:29

I watched it and was Shock. It puts my life into perspective. Tonight I was worrying about money - do I spend too much at Waitrose, is the cleaner worth £40 per week, do we really need £90 per month gym membership. Jesus, I am spoiled!

lisaro · 17/09/2012 22:31

All those feckless parents. Every single fucking one! Bastards!

ladygoingGaga · 17/09/2012 22:31

It is shocking, but unfortunately very true to life, I had to advise a moron mother this week that letting her 3 year old play outside without her was not ok. She was genuinely shocked.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 17/09/2012 22:32

I hope it made my dd's realise how good their lives are compared to that. I'm a lone parent, with not much money, but my kids are always fed and watered, and looked after.
Both dd's are prone to moaning about the things that they dont have, so maybe this will show them that actually, they are quite well off.

Catniss · 17/09/2012 22:35

I think its also a sorry state of affairs when it is up to the police to check that a parent has enough food in for their children. The police are stretched enough with idiots and time wasters.

I really do hope that young girl succeeds in her new life at University. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that her mothers needs and phonecalls may take over.

YouBrokeMySmoulder · 17/09/2012 22:50

It's really hard not to be judgemental. I'm failing quite frankly. How bad must the children taken into care be if some of these are left, I mean I know it's only a snapshot of their lives but still...

xMinerva · 17/09/2012 22:55

It's really shocked me so far and I'm not easily shocked.

Poor children.

Just getting to the 6month old baby now Sad (watching on +1)

ladygoinggaga. I was told, this week, by a woman on our cul-de-sac that I was "too overprotective" becuase I won't let my 3 1/2yr old and (just) 2yr old out on the street to play. She lets her 18month old out all the time and the mother is never around to check on her or anything. Seen that child nearly cause so many accidents.

And this is a woman in a 5 bed detached house with brand new car who looks down her nose at me because I'm in a 3 bed semi HA property.

toysoldiers · 17/09/2012 23:00

I'm a little in love with that policeman.

And can we PLEASE have a whip round for that girl's tuition fees.

ladygoingGaga · 17/09/2012 23:02

18 month old Shock

What is she thinking Confused

It doesn't matter how big her house is, it does not make up for her complete lack of parenting skills.

If she worked with me for one day she would never let her kids out of her sight

xmasevebundle · 17/09/2012 23:36

I watched half then went to bed.

When it was 2 teens having sex, i thought yeah yeah. Let alone it was a fully grown women old enough to be her son even grandson(pushing it) for £5, i was put off my ice cream with fruit STRAIGHT AWAY.

BonnieBumble · 18/09/2012 20:41

BonnieBumble · 18/09/2012 20:54

Thanks Smile not on there either. Maybe tomorrow...

BonnieBumble · 18/09/2012 21:00

Thanks Bertie, it's on the app now but not on my TV. Will have to watch it on my phone!

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 18/09/2012 21:04

Sadly, I didn't find it shocking, work with children in very similar situations.

The girl caring for her alcoholic mother was inspirational. Amazing a level results achieved in the worst circumstances.
