although what that woman is going to do when her baby goes to school might be more difficult.

I don't know many breakfast clubs that start at 7:15!

TunaPastaBake · 13/09/2012 21:36

As she is the only woman on Mothercares board it explains why Mothercares is so crap.

toysoldiers · 13/09/2012 21:53

I actually think Hillary is the wrong presenter for this.

I know she's ballsy and successful and possibly quite anti affirmative-action policies. However I think she probably turns a lot of viewers off, who would normally like this programme.

I would have got Karen Brady Wink

colleysmill · 13/09/2012 21:56

The biggest problem though with childcare which hasn't been addressed is what happens when children cant access it, ie when children are ill. In our workplace its always the mothers taking leave to care for sick children.

TunaPastaBake · 13/09/2012 21:58

And when child care is not subsidised.

crackcrackcrak · 13/09/2012 22:12

exactly - it all goes belly up when they go to school i am already worrying about this. people keep suggesting a childminder but they get ill too - theres nothing like the nursery safety net. i have to choose dd school based on its after school club facilities - not just its reputation and this really galls me.

I thought it was interesting she identified the ability to work flexibly and a support network of other working women as key success factors in mums returning to work... But I don't know why, as now I have typed it, it just sounds like common sense.
