I've been watching this and found myself getting irritated as usual with the extremely one-dimensional characterisation of female infidelity and a male partner's response to it. As usual, it depicted a woman in a stale relationship with a man who treated her like a dogsbody, who was then violent towards her and her lover on discovery. Plus the totally unnecessary depiction of him as a sexual harasser in the workplace.
I'd love to see something more true to life and representative of this sort of marital crisis. A woman who was just after an ego boost and some extra sex, in a normal marriage with an average, non-violent, non-pervy man, who just like her, took their relationship for granted some times.
I still don't think TV dramas are comfortable with the notion that women don't need to be married to sexist brutes in order to have an affair and want sex with someone else.
So this series just isn't believable - and on a more light-hearted note, it's not believable either that an assertive, successful woman would find a sulky, unsexy whineyarse like Aaron attractive.
It feels like there's a suggestion that Michael the husband has done something terrible to the marriage in the past, such as his own infidelity or blowing the family's money, so I'll keep watching but will be disappointed if they pile on even more excuses for a woman wanting sex with someone else.
