He's talking about St George.

God, I'm really nervous, so heaven knows how he's feeling! He's never been on telly before!

I'm watching, is he the historian?

UlyseesEggsAndEatsThem · 17/03/2006 09:41

Have I missed it?

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 09:43

Yes, the historian! Talking NOW!

OP posts:
Carmenere · 17/03/2006 09:44

He's good, I could imagine hime presenting a documentary about his subject.

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 09:45

Oooh, thanks Carmenere, we might come to you for a reference! Grin

milward · 17/03/2006 09:46

wow - was he the historian - really interesting - they should give him his own programme.

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 09:46

Thanks milward! Smile

God, I'm still really nervous for him. I'm glad to see that the fact that he's absolutely bricking it doesn't show!

OP posts:
ponygirl · 17/03/2006 09:55

All over. Phew! Think he did us, and himself, credit. Smile

Carmenere · 17/03/2006 09:56

I thought he was really good, will you guys be celebrating St Patricks day?

anorak · 17/03/2006 10:00

I watched it too. How interesting to be married to an historian. Bet he's got more interesting topics of conversation than who Millwall should buy next!

UlyseesEggsAndEatsThem · 17/03/2006 10:03

haha anorak Grin I know which I'd rather be married to, a football nut or historian?? Now let me think Wink

Well done ponyboy Smile

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 10:04

Yes, anorak, he does, no shortage of conversation!

Carmenere - I think we'll pass on St Patrick's. I have though just been discussing my mother what the English national drink would be if St George's Day was properly established. Is a g&t too colonial? Sure not bitter (yuk!). Pimms a bit too... Any advance?

Thanks for watching everyone! Smile

Tea, of course!

very boring though.

anorak · 17/03/2006 10:09

How about cider. Or mead?

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 10:19

Well, it's got to be alcoholic! The only alternative I could think of was just a bar: a whole range of drinks, something for everyone!

OP posts:
Carmenere · 17/03/2006 10:21

I got a bottle of Somerset Pomona which is apparently an ancient type of fortified apple-brandy type drink. That could be due for a revival!

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 10:27

But how long have you had it Carmenere?

OP posts:
Carmenere · 17/03/2006 10:27

lol, I got it in House of Fraser at Christmas!

SaintGeorge · 17/03/2006 10:41

He was talking about me and I missed it! Shucks.

As for the alcohol - gin would be the obvious answer, although I am rather partial to Vodka myself. Does that count if you have my official endorsement? Grin

ponygirl · 17/03/2006 10:48

I think your word, must officially be the final one, SG! Smile G&T it is! Hurrah!
