Was there a thread on this programme? If not, why not?! What an enthralling programme. There were so many characters in it that I would like to know more about. Ridley Scott is an amazing director.

i switched off after 10 minutes, was dull Grin obviously it got better

VivaLeBeaver · 14/06/2012 17:35

I really liked it. Am sure I saw a film of a similar concept recently called Life in a Day or something like that.

boohoohoo · 14/06/2012 17:48

I think its just me, but I found it extremly moving, just seeing a tiny slice of peoples lives, it was shot beautifully and very cleverly. Ridley and Tony Scott are amazing.

VivaLeBeaver · 14/06/2012 17:53

What do you mean by "shot". There wasn't a cameraman. People uploaded their home videos to YouTube didn't they?

boohoohoo · 14/06/2012 17:57

Yeah, see your point, probably mean edited! Im know Ridley Scott Grin

boohoohoo · 14/06/2012 17:57

Shit, no not know!

Allthesanityinme · 14/06/2012 18:01

it was brilliant, starts of a bit slow but definitely worth persevering with

VivaLeBeaver · 14/06/2012 18:02

Yes, the editing was good.

This is the film I was thinking of

I found it desperately sad. I don't even know why.

There were a few things that were really uplifting - the father of that bike ride family proposing, the gay teenage boy, the man watching badgers (I loved him! the pure joy on his face at the end of the night), the cattle farmer, Lola and her mum/big sister (amazingly youthful looking Mum!) - but I was left with this feeling of pervasive sadness.

Maybe just the way it really captured the struggles of daily life, and how many people are quietly suffering.

THERE WAS oops another, small, thread on this. i was enthralled. very enjoyable and somehow emotional

Himalaya · 15/06/2012 19:16

I was great. Made me cry.

ripsishere · 16/06/2012 10:20

I've got it to watch. I'll give it a go once I start the mammoth pile(s) of ironing.

frostyfingers · 16/06/2012 10:22

The first 10 minutes were really irritating, and the music was so intrusive (they are obsessed with over dramatic music on everything), but after a while it settled down and was very affecting to watch. I found it quite sad too, perhaps it was something to do with it being November (I hate winter), or just the reality of it - life laid bare maybe - but it was fascinating. It made me think about what I might have filmed too!
