Here we are! hello baba, she's gorgeous!

Meglet · 07/03/2012 21:58

aaaw, Baby Solomon Smile.

starlight Is your DS ok with watching births? I was umming and ahhing over letting DS watch a calm one. Or the prepping for a cs (maybe not the scalpel / blood bit ) as he knows that's how he was whipped out.

TinOfTigerFood · 07/03/2012 21:59

Bit irresponsible to get down to a size14 in order to conceive then eat a Snickers every day of your pregnancy Hmm

FeathersMcGraw · 07/03/2012 21:59

aaaw love the half-hearted cry from Eva

scarletforya · 07/03/2012 21:59

Oh lucky you, Norah! I think she is lovely - calm and kind.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/03/2012 22:00

Was that midwife on the next week clip being a wanker?

Dotty342kids · 07/03/2012 22:00

Lovely birth from Ines, so nice to see one in that position, she did so well!

moggiek · 07/03/2012 22:00

The baby looks like mummy Janet!

TinOfTigerFood · 07/03/2012 22:01

yep she's from Wankingsthorpe Grin

Armi · 07/03/2012 22:02

Gosh yes, tinoftigerfood, reckless confectionary consumption is the true sign of an irresponsible parent!

I fecking love MN, I really do. :o

GColdtimer · 07/03/2012 22:02

Just switched on to see lovely calm birth and thought how nice it was not to see someone flat on their back. Then I though I bet you lot were saying the same thing Smile

TinOfTigerFood · 07/03/2012 22:03

I didn't comment on her parenting just seems a bit over the top to eat Snickers EVERY day of your pregnancy, having lost so much weight before, for her sake. and long term health.

StarlightDicKenzie · 07/03/2012 22:05

Well it was kind of forced on me. I was ill with morning sickness in the loo for over an hour and came downstairs to find my DS (5) and dd (3) watching a US programme about c/sections.

My daughter can often be heard screaming in the morning as DS has whipped off her covers and is attempting to cut open her tummy with a plastic or pretend knife. With me being pregnant he has been talking a lot about cutting me up and asking how long before my tummy mends. He has autism so gets quite obsessed with things.

I thought he'd already gone a level beyond OBEM tbh and wanted to make sure he understood that usually the babies come out differently.

Armi · 07/03/2012 22:08

If she's got herself down to a size 14 then let the woman eat, I say.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/03/2012 22:09

I would have loved a daily Snickers instead of 20 pukes. Smile
My friend craved Mars Bars and was actually really upset by it!

heronsfly · 08/03/2012 06:55

I think the midwife was very snappy to the 'I feel sick mum' and then she tried to justify her words on the voice over by saying you have to be tough with some mums, those few words could bug that mum for years.

grubbalo · 08/03/2012 09:36

I think sometimes you need someone to be quite forceful (or snappy) in labour though. I remember when I had DS2 I had a midwife who some people had said could be a bit scary - in actual fact, she was just what I needed at the end. Her being forceful made me feel like she was in absolute control and I just had to listen - afterwards she apologised for sounding so forceful but I was honestly able to tell her it was what had been needed. I've no doubt if I'd seen it on tape she would have sounded pretty fierce though.

I wouldn't have needed anyone like that with DD1 though, and didn't get that... I think midwives are pretty good at reading people and the situation. Labour is a funny time!

ripsishere · 09/03/2012 15:28

Coming to this very late.
I felt really sorry for Janet. She'd already spoken about how hard it would be not to be able to cuddle her partner. Loved the idea of dead grandma telling them not to buy sperm off the internet.
Glad all the babies are OK. I am worried about the one they show on the introduction when the young lad comes out and says 'there's something wrong with him' Sad

AnEcumenicalMatter · 09/03/2012 17:23

Rip that episode was early on in the series. IIRC the baby needed to go to SCBU briefly but was ok. The father wasn't in theatre for the birth as his partner had opted to have her Mum with her so he didn't really know what had happened when he had his little outburst in the corridor.
