Give her a chance. Grin

natalie is making excuses for her scumbag boyfriend.

ifancyashandy · 21/02/2012 10:40

Emma Willis. Years and years of live telly experience.

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 10:42

'Adam' sounds like a right charmer.

Yes, I will give Emma Willis a chance. But only if she twats Natalie Cassidy.

See Natalie kept the weight off then. Hmm

ifancyashandy · 21/02/2012 10:45

Oh God, Natalie.... you poor love.

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 10:45

Nat now says that she doesn't know what she's talking about.

Why isn't the boyfriend on making his excuses instead? It's awful to watch her sitting there trying to justify everything.

Greeata · 21/02/2012 10:47

I like her. I was wondering if her hair style would suit me. I have a fat face though.

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 10:49

That was just the most awful piece of unnecesary television. Here's Colleen reading out messages about how abusive partners can change into nice lovely people.

I'm pleased that Phil read out the Refuge advice twice, that abusive partners changing 'is the least likely scenario.'

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 10:49

(I can spell, honest)

sodapops · 21/02/2012 10:50

Greeata I like her too, and was wondering the same thing. I am going to the hairdressers at 12.00, I bet I have the usual trim!

ChickensHaveNoLips · 21/02/2012 10:50

I have a horrible feeling that that interview is going to come back to bite her on the arse :(

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 10:50

Emma keeps having to move her fringe, though. It's bothering me.

I'm easily bothered.

OP posts:
JaneMare · 21/02/2012 10:50

i want to take Natalie away to a safe place and let her listen to other women who's partners have 'changed'

JaneMare · 21/02/2012 10:50

*whose Blush

sodapops · 21/02/2012 10:53

Linerunner- some people do change. Yes it is the "least likely scenario" but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

ifancyashandy · 21/02/2012 10:53

My hair is like Emma's. I had it first.

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 10:55

I feel so sorry for Nat but also a bit angry that she might have done a great disservice today to some other women.

OP posts:
RabidEchidna · 21/02/2012 10:56

She is clearly very stupid

JaneMare · 21/02/2012 10:56

i agree LineRunner

how many women are hanging on her words now, clutching at the same straws?

*i know men are victims too - that's a whole other thread

sailorsgal · 21/02/2012 11:06

But why take the risk. There are lots of lovely decent men out there. I know I married one.

also talking to a girl this week who escaped an abusive partner who is now in a wonderful relationship.

Life is too precious and too short.

pictish · 21/02/2012 11:07

Totally agree about Natalie Cassidy.
There she was excusing him, and taking responsibility for his maltreatment of her.

Sad and uncomfortable television.

LineRunner · 21/02/2012 11:15

I thought Phil was OK but the other presenter could have been more challenging of Natalie Cassidy's narrative.

Yes, pictish, sad and uncomfortable.

Tricky one for Emma - her partner has a drink problem (now teetotal) so she was probably keeping a lower profile in order to keep her situation out of it.

wannaBe · 21/02/2012 11:24

I don't feel sad for her. Sorry but I don't. She has chosen to go back to a man who was so abusive she took out a restraining order against him.

She was a victim - she had no blame for what he had done to her. But she then took responsibility and threw him out, good for her. But her taking him back was equally her responsibility, and that is where she loses my sympathy.

Were she in the midst of this relationship not knowing what to do I would have every sympathy for her, but she isn't. "oh he's changed," "Oh it was all the drinking," "oh the issue was mine because I got so wound up about his drinking." Hmm

This morning shouldn't be giving airtime to this - she is a role model and other women in similar situations will be thinking that it's ok because some famous woman says it is.

To broadcast this is utterly irresponsible IMO.
