Junior Apprentice: why is that girl wearing the same dress in the boardroom AGAIN?

Is it special? It's certainly tight... I know nothing about fashion, so genuine question!

Ryoko · 28/11/2011 23:05

Well why shouldn't she? I'm sure the guys have been wearing the same suits for weeks.

Conundrumish · 28/11/2011 23:06

Which one? (didn't watch tonight).

Do you mean Lizzie?

LeBOF · 28/11/2011 23:09

It looked like it cost a tenner from a market stall- it was awful. The white lycra one, right?

pumpupthevolume · 28/11/2011 23:59

Sorry, just read my op and it looks really aggressive! Blush

I mean Zara, photo here: tvpixie.com/CMS/sites/default/files/Young%20Apprentice%20episode%203%20boardroom%20Hannah.png

I really am clueless about fashion, and I've been wondering if it's something expensive and designer, maybe Victoria Beckham? But then I've been confused, because I don't think it looks great, but wondering if it's because I am old and don't get it?

OP posts:
nailak · 29/11/2011 00:06

The other one was wearing the same Orange balloon trousers

Sleepwhenidie · 29/11/2011 00:11

I think that they are teenagers and maybe before criticising we should think about the fashion choices we made at 16 Hmm Blush

Having said that, the white dress (cheap Roland Mouret imitation) really isn't, IMO, appropriate office attire at all...makes me cringe a bit...just like when I follow my own advice above Grin

DestinationUnknown · 29/11/2011 00:26

My favourite bit of the series so far was in the guitar shop ...

Shopkeeper: "This one is good. Hendrix had one like this."

Junior Apprentice wannabe "Who?"

MardyBra · 29/11/2011 00:39

Pumpup. I've been thinking exactly the same thing about that dress every week too. The colour is really unflattering and looks a but see through in places too. It would look much more classy in a dark navy. At least it's better than the sailor suit thing that the blond o e wore over and over again last year.

Ryoko · 29/11/2011 01:25

I like the way he said you could just string it the other way round, LOL no you can't, you need to turn the nut round, and the one he was holding had all the machine heads on one side that makes a difference too, as does having an angled bridge.

I'm left handed, play right handed, it's less hassle just to learn that way and the left handed ones cost more.

likelucklove · 29/11/2011 06:13

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one! I know their young bit they are also meant to be professional... Changing it up can't hurt?

It's my reason I want to send her home every week Grin I don't feel guilty (much) because we tick the same age box on forms!

DogStinkhorn · 29/11/2011 06:30

Maybe she can't afford a large and varied business wardrobe?

seeker · 29/11/2011 07:15

Maybe the whole programme is cringeworthy and repulsive and actually shouldn't be on telly at all? it's bad enough that adults have attitudes and ambitions like that, but it's appalling that people who are barely more than children are encouraged along the same lines.

LeBOF · 29/11/2011 11:14

That's the public school system that does that though, not the telly.

VivaLeBeaver · 29/11/2011 11:23

I should think because she's had a limited amount of money to spend on clothes which once she finishes this programme she's never going to wear again.

Or the whole ill-fitting white suit worn interminably on a business/entertainment show could be a tribute to Hilary Devay?

porcamiseria · 29/11/2011 14:12

I know!!!!!! thought the same

GreenEyesandNiceHam · 29/11/2011 19:14

I thought they all wore the same each week, I wondered if it was for spoilers etc, so they can show boardroom clips at the beginning without giving too much away?

Perhaps I'm overthinking it Grin

Anyway yes, the dress. It's too tight, she couldn't sit properly on the couches, she was listing over Grin

pumpupthevolume · 29/11/2011 21:18

Aha!! I think you're onto something... Maybe they are all wearing the same thing, and I only noticed the white dress!

Editing... Makes sense now! And yes, homage to Hilary... And being a teenager... You all make good points, and I feel less puzzled now.

seeker i don't understand your comments: "cringeworthy and repulsive"???? I'm glad that the youngsters are being encouraged to work hard and earn a living, rather than aspiring to be WAGs or rely on benefits. Yes, they keep in some of the numptys for tv entertainment purposes, especially in the adult version, but you can be great at business and a nice person too! The first Apprentice winner, Tim Campbell is doing a lot of fantastic work in social enterprise and has made a positive contribution to society.

What is it with Zara and her swept back hair?
Its like she is aiming for 'power hair'

I think its a shame Lizzy and her team lost this week as although they spent more they were at least organised. The other team were an organisational mess!

Conundrumish · 29/11/2011 21:31

Gah - was going to watch it tonight and have just read last post!

LauraIngallsWilder · 29/11/2011 21:34

Sorry pinkpanettone Blush - the danger of reading threads about tv episodes you havent watched yet! (happens to me all the time)
Im watching it now........... boardroom decision in about 30 seconds time!

Conundrumish · 30/11/2011 00:39

I know! I should stay away with 'Junior Apprentice' in the title, but I can never resist!

seeker · 30/11/2011 07:01

"seeker i don't understand your comments: "cringeworthy and repulsive"???? I'm glad that the youngsters are being encouraged to work hard and earn a living, rather than aspiring to be WAGs or rely on benefits."

Do we really want our young people to think money is the most important thing and it's ok to trample on others in the pursuit of it? And that life is all about "looking after number one". And 16 year old's should be idealistic and full of dreams, not hard nosed business people. And they should be treated with respect, not paraded on the telly for our entertainment.

Ryoko · 30/11/2011 18:18

Harry.....M? not sure if it's M but the light haired boy who stinks of eau de la ego. he's got future Tory leader written all over his smug face, is he a member of the young Conservatives?.
