Has anyone else been watching this? The children cooking are really good - I'm impressed with what they are doing. Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood judge it.

my son would love that. I will look for it...

Lovesbaking · 08/11/2011 11:57

Yes I have. yhe kids are brilliant. really hope my son will enjoy baking, we do it together sometimes and I also get hm to help me cook. He is only 3.5 but I think it quite important to learn from an early age.

On a related note I am secretly in love with Paul Hollywood. Those eyes and the salt and pepper hair. Ahhh!

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 08/11/2011 12:21

The children are so confident! And, as you say, Paul Hollywood... Grin

Some of them are a bit too cocky for my liking although most of them can cook better than I can! Also developing a sneaky crush on Mr H, it's those twinkly eyes - he's the only man with a beard I've ever found remotely attractive!

KurriKurri · 08/11/2011 15:13

I think they are mostly lovely kids, that presenter is irritating though.

I am worrying about Jim's scones now - too thin

KurriKurri · 08/11/2011 15:29

I love the way kids always think that the more crap you can load onto a cake for decoration, the better it is Grin

Idontknowhowtohelpher · 08/11/2011 15:42

You mean it isn't? Grin
It does make it seem realistic though - those ones are definitely the children's own designs

And I love that Mary and Paul do their best to ignore the decoration (which is sometimes fab!) and judge purely on the baking.

The presenter gets on my nerves as well but I guess they used up all of the budget getting MB and PH, couldn't stretch to Mel and Sue as well!

CaurnieBred · 08/11/2011 22:24

The only good thing about the presenter is his (lack of) enunciation skills - especially when it comes to the "th" sounds. I am able to use him as an example to DD with regards to how awful it sounds!

The kids today were the best so far.

MunchkinsMumof2 · 09/11/2011 10:32

I use him as an example of that too Caurnie! Dd (8) can't say "th" yet so I tell her if she doesn't practise she will sound like him! I love this show, they are talented children.

HugeGrant · 11/11/2011 08:23

Oh I love it too! And am really impressed on how well they are all doing.

At first I found the presenter irritating, but now I think he's great! He makes us laugh. Didn't he win the first series of Jamie's Fifteen or something like that..?

HugeGrant · 11/11/2011 08:26

yes, here So I guess he knows his food.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 11/11/2011 08:40

I've only just found it as we're not old enough for cbbc in this house. Only seen the first episode so far but it's very good and yy to the children being able to bake better than me Envy

TougherThanTheRest · 11/11/2011 10:21

Actually the presenter has grown on me his inability to speak properly aside. He makes me laugh and his cleaned-up-Pete-Docherty-style clothes are quite a contrast to Mary and Paul's sensible attire!
