I've just seen a trailer for the new series of ER. I can't wait, i've missed it sooooo much and have been watching re-runs on More 4. It looks like it's going to be great.

god, a french doctor who looks like Carter. I have NEVER considered divorcing DH, but if I do I shall CAT you pronto for an introduction.....

swoon.

does he live by the sea?

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 14:26

no he lives near Annecy (by the lake and mountains, not bad, in Venice at the moment!!)
however he is married to a friend of mine (she is one of these gorgeous slim women grrrrr) and they have two fantastic boys
how perfect are they!!!

he does have a tendency to mumble though which can be annoying (she says hoping to put PPH off)

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 29/12/2005 14:30

I can do Annecy, very nice. If she runs off with an Italian Count with a canalside palazzo, then please let me know

PS I object STRONGLY to the implication that I am not slim and gorgeous with wonderful children !

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 14:34

I never implied that PPH !!! am sure he would go for you dahling!
will keep you posted on any developments in their relationship

you tart

what was your dh surprise pressie btw?

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 29/12/2005 14:42

actually it is a fairly safe assumption that I am not slim, being 37 weeks pg and all....!

dh's pressie was a ring - a completely wild 1970's ring shaped like a HUGE flower with three layers of petals that swivel around and covered in 5cts of diamonds. It is the most hilarious thing you have ever seen in your life - very chic in a nicely hideous way. Most entertaining. about 3.5cm in diameter and 1.5cm high - it is VAST!!!!!

Brave choice and it took me a day to decide but I think I love it now....

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 14:51

that sounds amazing!! your dh is a brave man indeed.... wish you could post a picture!
you see, my brother would not go for something that wild

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 29/12/2005 14:57

he is quite good at jewellery. I let him go to sri lanka for a week by himself to watch cricket and he came back with a 27ct aquamarine ring . it was like that bit in pretty woman where she keeps opening the jewellery box, shrieking and closing it again!!!

that one looks like an oversized fox's glacier mint, it is ACE

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 15:02

I adore acquamarines!!! that's what dh gave me when dd was born (on my recommendation), and what my dad gave my mum when i was born!
your dh sounds v v v nice

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 29/12/2005 15:09

it was just after ds1 was born (hence his amazement at being allowed off for a week!). It is beautiful - emerald cut and very plainly set.

Have to think about what to ask for when this baby is born! Any suggestions?

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 15:20

oooh yes any excuse to think about great jewellery!!!
please do start a thread on this!

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 29/12/2005 15:21

hee hee

think I'd better give birth first.

although having thought about it I'm still owed for the LAST baby, so this present needs to be pretty special...!!!!

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 15:29

how about a classic Chanel jacket if you don't have one? you know, something you can dress up or down and then pass on to your daughter?
almost as good as jewellery...

PrincessPlumPuddingHead · 29/12/2005 15:32

That is a good idea. I have a beautiful red tweed full length Chanel coat - slim with a "kick" in the hem - which I bought for DS1's christening and have used for v smart winter weddings etc since (including a SUPER smart one in Paris ). Unbelieveably expensive but as you say pretty timeless...

need to lose the preg weight for that though

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 29/12/2005 15:43

very at your chanel coat, sounds fab!

most hermes bags would be good too (my other brother in paris bought his wife two Kelly bags for her last birthday again!!)

PrincessPeaHead · 03/01/2006 21:32

Oh bloody hell I remembered this as Tuesday, not Thursday (ie today) and have been looking forward to it all day!

Spent ages flicking through the newspaper and Sky trying to find it. Bah humbug!

Hi, I'm an ER junkie. I was an avid fan from the very beginning but lost the plot somewhere during series 9 to 11 so went right back to the beginning. I have series 1 to 8 on DVD. Has anyone taped the last three series, I would swap them for 1 to 8. Much appreciated.
