a family with a 4yo and a 2yo have spent a total of 9 days as a family since the first child was born. Neither have ever spent a week with the child/children!!!!!!!!!

dh did it first for a week when dd was 6 months - I was working for the week and he was at home adn the first night i got home and he thrust her at me saying "ok you've proved your point"
(I had no point, he had wanted to do it LOL!!!)

I was more surprised by the fact that neither child was in a car seat suitable for their age, they had stairgates all over the place (ok, well 2) neither closed, children played on stairs & the youngest was left on a worktop with all sorts of untensils while the eldest was put on naughty step!
