OK, so I've clearly been involved in mumsnet too long. Despite having no children, I'm finding House of Tiny Tearaways totally gripping. I really feel for the single mum - she seems desperate to do right by her son and she's come on in leaps. The boy with the eating difficulties is such a sweet little munchkin, and clearly just adores his daddy. Last night when he said "daddy I love you with all my heart" I had tears in my eyes. The father doesn't seem too forthcoming with affection though. I predict a breakthrough crying session with Dr Tanya where she makes him realise how he's being stiff and tense around the children. In general, she seems very skilled at pointing out to the parents where they are maybe not behaving in their own / their children's best interests - without getting their backs up.
It's amazing to watch the kids' tantrums fade once the parents start ignoring them. Hmm. Maybe I will now go off and become aggravating know-it-all non-parent offering unsolicited advice to mothers in the street / supermarket. That'll be popular.
I think it would be great if everyone got a chance to do a mini-version of this and observe their own behaviour for a couple of days. Maybe they should do it on the nhs.
Anyway, am now rambling so will shut up. If you haven't seen it, it gets the house of Tech recommendation... much more interesting than the antics on I'm a celeb.
