He's great!

Loved the programme where one woman refused to tell anyone her age and Dave was saying it every few seconds. (53, 53, 53 ...)

Would make a great programme filming the contestants watching back the show and how they've been portrayed

AnyoneForPimms · 01/05/2011 19:49

He is a legend!

usualsuspect · 01/05/2011 19:50

Hes hilarious ..I love his sarky humour

sharbie · 01/05/2011 19:50

he is great.he doesn't even need to use words - i love the errrrrrrrrr s.

CalamityKate · 01/05/2011 19:52

I don't think he's funny at all! He tries to be, but he just isn't!

ttalloo · 01/05/2011 19:56

He's amazing. I'd love to know if he writes his own script for the show, or if he just delivers someone else's lines brilliantly.

goodbyemrschips · 02/05/2011 09:00

I think he is very funny, makes me laugh out loud sometimes.

mizu · 02/05/2011 09:53

I agree, I love listening to him. My sis on the other hand refuses to watch come dine with me as she can't bear him.

redundanttiara · 02/05/2011 17:04

I love him, and his name! Clearly born to be a commentator on Come Dine With Me. I enjoy his sense of humour and he often says the sort of thing I would be thinking but DH just doesn't get it. He enjoys CDWM otherwise.

Hassled · 02/05/2011 17:06

I didn't know it was Dave Lamb - son of Larry, off Eastenders/Gavin&Stacey etc? That one? He is great.

Hassled · 02/05/2011 17:06

no - that's George Lamb

mrscynical · 02/05/2011 18:09

You realise how crucial Dave Lamb is when you watch Come Dine With Me Down Under. The voiceover on the Aussie version is not funny and I now don't watch it as most of the fun is in the commentary.

Stilla · 02/05/2011 19:12

The Aussie one at the weekend where the guy was sweating over the food & using tea-towel to mop up the sweat was just crying out for the Dave Lamb touch .

herecomesthsun · 02/05/2011 19:20

I find him very irritating. Bt then I think going to be a guest in someone's house and then being rude about them is horrible, so maybe I am the wrong person to give an opinion on this.

Bumperlicioso · 02/05/2011 19:29

He also does the voice over for the kids programme Bug Barn Farm

mousymouse · 03/05/2011 10:27

I watched the german version last week. no dave lamb there either. and not funny at all.

mousymouse · 03/05/2011 10:27

:o at bug barn farm

TheNextMrsBuble · 03/05/2011 13:06

Dave Lamb is what make CDWM so good. Without his commentary it would be dull dull dull. Can't remember the name of the programme but he was in the BBC drama/soap/fly-on-the-wall thingy a couple of years ago with Martene McCutheon and that Miller fella about the writers of a soap set in Cornwall or somewhere similar.

doings · 03/05/2011 14:25

Let's face it. Without him, the programme would be shit. Actually think it's pretty much pants anyway with all the divbrains they get on. I've switched my allegiance to 3 in a bed. Wished he narrated that but Robert Webb does a reasonable job here.

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 03/05/2011 17:32

MrsBuble - that was moving Wallpaper / Echo Beach - i thought it was hilarious - the overacting in the soap (Jason Donovan was very funny) and the touches like them ordering too much material and you kept seeing it pop up in the soap...

Funtimewincies · 03/05/2011 20:13

He's also the bloke who does the meerkat 'simples' advert apparently.

I think that it was in a Big Issue article last year. Or I might have dreamt it Hmm.

Funtimewincies · 03/05/2011 20:25

Ignore that, it's someone called Simon Greenall. Which means that I must have dreamt it Blush.

Never mind, you're all figments of my imagination anyway Grin.

pjani · 04/05/2011 18:06

He makes Come Dine With Me! Sometimes I think he's a bit too mean, but then he has me laughing again.

DukesOfTripHazard · 23/06/2011 11:37

All fans of the lamb.... he is presenting Horrible History Gory Games on CBBC.

edam · 25/06/2011 00:44

I wish I hadn't seen HH Gory Games, tbh, it spoils Come Dine With Me knowing what Dave looks like, somehow. He was better as a disembodied all-knowing all-seeing narrator.
