Greatly enjoying this prog -3 so far. Not learning much about cooking but he's very keen.

Apparently he's in the press in Italy today bbut is not getting very good press. I'll buy a paper later to find out

I wonder if someone could record it for you?

I would but our VHS is on it's last legs!

MaryP0p1 · 11/11/2005 15:37

We have asked friends but they all seem to forget....

I take it you don't have some sort of Sky or Cable there?

I would think they'll bring a Dvd out at some point.

I have this week's on video if you're desperate and no DVD appears at Christmas!

I'm enjoying watching it, but with a little pinch of cynicism. Not sure how brave he's being really -- thought it was quite revealing how this week's kicked off with him flying home for the weekend (with the film crew, even though they moan about not having any privacy). And Hugh F-W is slaughtering wildlife and eating it at every verse end on River Cottage, without having a fit of the vapours.

I loved the one in the monastery. I thought the monks were pretty cool.

MaryPOP - is that standard of food normal in Italian schools? If so, I'm for all kinds of reasons

Its repeated on More4 over the weekend yoyo.

As far as I can see yes it is. But here life is different. Whereever you go they don;t talk about the weather but about what they had/ or are having for lunch or the last meal they ate in a restaurant. Children are not excluded from this and meals out always include every member of the fanily. I have never seen a childrens meal here because they eat exactly the same as their grown ups. Also normally schools run morning only (inc saturdays) and the children eat at home with ALL the family because everybody comes home to eat and lunch is 12 -3 (normally). My daughter goes to a private school run by nuns and they provide afternoon care (hense lunch) food has to be of at least the standard they would expect at home, otherwise the children will not eat it.

Oh and by the way they go to a private school becaue she has friends there and it has easied the transition from one country to another. Sending yuor children to private is not for the rich as in the UK because it is not expensive. Full time it costs about £80 a month, nothing for the summer.
