And was it just me bawling my eyes out?

Downright nasty, and then talking of killing 3 month old babies (I was bfing my 14 week old ds at the time), and raping 3 year old girls... not to mention everything else.

It was on because dh wanted to watch it.

Why do they have to be so graphic? After a quick explanation, I think we got the point. There was so much more that could have been covered, but it concentrated mostly on the rape/murder aspect.

Sad

I saw last week's one about drugs. I purposely recorded last night's as I knew some of the things that went on and I wasn't sue if I could watch.

You've now answered that for me.

Gregs, I don't know how anyone could watch it and not feel something.

I saw the one last week too. Again, I thought it was a little OTT on the number of times they showed people injecting, but it was when they showed the man fitting that got me. Dh is epileptic, and the fit looked similar to what he does. He was horrified as (obviously) he doesn't know what one is like to see.

I don't dare look to see what's coming next week.

i wanted to turn it off but then i thought to myself its not me who had to endure this, the least i can do is listen to their horror stories and educate myself a bit, a truly horrible war i remember the news reports from 1994 it was horrific, and so so sad that this sort of thing is still happening,

Does anyone know why the UN couldnt intervene when the militias were raping and killing in the village 30 miles from the UN base for 4 days? I found that horrifying Shock Sad

giggly · 01/03/2011 21:48

The UN are forbidden to intervene except when they are under attack. Their presence is to deter attack but I am not sure of the legal aspects of this ruling. DB was a peacekeeper during Balkans war and they had similar problems.

I think that a quick explanation of it would have been an injustice to these thousands of women and children who are being exploited and assaulted every day.

We need to know that these things are happening.
It will be interesting to see if the coverage has any impact, although I doubt it.
