Well almost .

He makes his living as Henry VIIIth and goes into schools and historic castles etc.

Anyhow - this morning he got a call from the Beeb (dahlings) and they want him to come to London on 25th September for a live show at Trafalger Square where Rolf (and around 100 other artists) are going to recreate the Hans Holbein(sp?) painting of Henry VIIIth. When finished it's apparently going to be hung from Nelson's Column!

DH is going up to talk to people, mingle and pose for photos and will meet some of the amateur artists going along and pose for portraits etc - there's going to be a red carpet, orchestra and everything.

DH is going to be interviewed by Rolf and will be in costume (which was based upon the Holbein painting). There's apparently another Henry going as well from the North of England so DH is looking forward to meeting him.

Best of all they are actually going to pay him - brilliant.

Oh am so pleased and proud of him.

Look out for Rolf on Art on BBC1 on Sunday 25th September.

bea - you saw that??

I thought the only people who'd seen it was us.

Yes. Twas him. He put an ad in Private Eye (at great cost) and got no response from it other than a journalist from The Observer phoning to see if he could write about the ad.

Free advertising in a national newspaper - fabulous AND he got some work from it.

Hooray! They're going to pay him £200 + travel/petrol costs. Brilliant. He's only ever done radio for the BBC before and they quibbled about the train fare on those occasions.

I am most pleased.

Check out Constable's "The Hay Wain" from last year
