Nigella v Jamie both new series

Having been a fan of both I have to say that Jamie's new series wins hands down. Ok, there's only been one broadcast so far, but I like the format and the idea that it can all be done in 30 mins. Nigella is stuck in the same old format that she's been doing for years all pouting and friends for supper.

I felt quiet inspired by Mr Oliver yesterday, but Ms Lawson's 'pizza' last week was revolting.

Oh that woman, I'll keep my rant short.
Jamie can charge for his meals, he is a proper trained chef. I've not watched his new series yet.

All I can say about Nigella is, she has a lot of nice friends who are all too polite or of the attitude that it's Nigellas so it must be good. But I just don't get her, she seems so fake and she's become the impression of herself, I only watch it to see what she is trying to get away with. That 'pizza' was a yorkshire pudding gone wrong with 5 slices of salami, I expect it would have made a good frisbee.

And another thing, I'm sure she ate a prawn that still had it's shell on.

Love Jamie, he can do no wrong

Can't stand Nigella, she's so very fake

jenroy, not only did she eat it with the shell on but she ate the whole head as well.

Remember this is a woman who eats pigs ears, reserved normally for dogs.

I do like the whole domestic goddess idea but for me it is Jamie's recipes that I have to memory. His very veggie pasta sauce is an absolute winner. Sometimes I think he is a bit lairy but all in all my dts2 (8 1/2) loves him to bits and thanks to Jamie both my boys prefer eating good food to junk. Heaven help if they listen to me but watching Jamie's shows showed them why.

Haven't had time to watch Jamie but did try his jerk chicken with rice and beans AND salad when it was serialised in Sunday Times.
Whole thing took about and hour and a half! Mainly because assembling the ingredients took ages as there are so many of them and this time is not counted in his 30 minute timing. In the end both my DH and I were rushing around the kitchen stirring rice, dressing salad and trying not to burn the chicken. End result was yummy (would probably dial down the cloves next time but that's just me).

Love the concept but next time I would try it on a weekend, not for a weekday supper, as it was too frantic and there were MOUNDS of washing up.
