because if I'm a tad sick of house auction programmes/house hunting programmes/more auction programmes. They are just crap!

I gave up watching ages ago because I couldn't stand anymore 'Crap in your Attic' with Alistair Public-School, or any more re runs of Diagnosis Murder staring the entire Van Dyke family.

It's quite depressing to know they're still showing the same old rubbish. They wouldn't put the same show on every night of the week, why do they do it in the day?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 11:42

It's been the same crap for a few years. Todays crap in the attic clearly just want to show off their massive house. Hmm

Are they still doing that God awful 'buy some very expensive tat from an antique stall, and sell it for a loss at auction' thing? What is the point of that programme.

Honestly I used to put TV on while I was ironing/doing the washing up or whatever, now I just listen to CD's.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 12:12

Yes, seriously, daytime TV is dire. I can't wait to go back to work as I feel every brain cell dying. BBC1 starts off with some heir hunter crap, "Bill Smith died on Mars in 2030 and left an estate valued around 50p. Do you know Bill Smith? Could you be a relative of Bills?" Then there's the buy a house at an auction shite, do it up and sell it on. Where's the entertainment in this? It's crapola. Then there's a location, location, location spin off, now trash in the attic is on, at least it's not that Lorraine Spicer woman, she does my head in. Ben Foggle bloke is a nightmare, if someone doesn't want to sell something he'll keep going on about it "oh, it's a shame you didn't bring your mother's kidney, you could have got so much money for it". Bloody bargain hunt is on now!

Well it is 6 years since I finished my ML and it appears the same crap is STILL on Shock! I wouldn't hold your breath.....

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 12:57

I am loosing the will to live. I can understand why I sleep so much on my days off work Wink I think it's about time the BBC changed it's daytime line up.

OP posts:
PortBlacksand · 02/09/2010 13:13

Listen to FiveLive instead - it's very informative and you can get other stuff done at the same time...

PortBlacksand · 02/09/2010 13:13

Agree - hate the graspy heir hunters one....

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 18:52

I have hundreds of TV channels! I really have no idea why I stick the darn thing on BBC1 Confused

retiredgoth2 · 02/09/2010 18:56

There are daytime programmes?

Apart from the news and Pebble Mill at One of course.

I thought that was only in the school holidays. Y'know, Robinson Crusoe, White Horses, Flashing Blade...

Yep. All that dubbed foreign stuff... Yes. They should definitely get something else.

Belle and Sebastien perhaps?

TheCrackFox · 02/09/2010 18:56

How Lorne Spicer is still on TV is a mystery.

I like Heir Hunters and Homes Under the Hammer but the rest is complete shite.

retiredgoth2 · 02/09/2010 18:57

Wasn't Lorne Spicer in Bonanza?

Theochris · 02/09/2010 19:52

retiredgoth :)

Well I expect Heidi, and Silas are on somewhere :)

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 19:54

I can't see the point in homes under the hammer, it's the ultimate in crapola. As for heir hunters, oh please!

OP posts:
Portofino · 02/09/2010 20:09

retiredgoth, what about Crown Court and the Sullivans? Worth having tonsilitus for in my experience. And House Party! Bring back House Party!

KurriKurri · 02/09/2010 20:16

House Party Grin now that was proper telly.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 20:19

I'm not surprised why so many people watch twisha or jeremy kyle considering the rubbish the BBC show.

Portofino · 02/09/2010 20:24

"One of Southern's most famous television programmes was Houseparty, an afternoon show aimed primarily at women that was shown locally to begin with then part-networked (one programme a week). It featured the sort of items expected to be found within the covers of a "magazine for women", such as cooking, knitting, crafts, and general gossip. The studio was arranged so as to resemble a living room and the regular 'guests' rang a 'doorbell' when they arrived after the programme had started, often bringing items of interest with them. It may have been a rather 'phoney' idea but the show was popular; it only ended when Southern stopped broadcasting, though Meridian revived the show for a brief time with the daughters of some of the original cast, in 1993"

It's like 1970s Mumsnet! Grin

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/09/2010 20:26

Ahh, I'm too young to remember that Grin

expatinscotland · 02/09/2010 20:31

I turn it off. I see no idea why we are paying a license fee because BBC is shite.
