I thought it was profoundly sad - that woman who went to America especially.
SHe took them out in prams, had fake milk........ I missed some though, they must be loaded? all those prams and dolls? But £300 for an outfit to bring a doll home in?

bumbums · 08/08/2010 19:51

I saw it. It was seriously wierd. Surely one would try harder to have contact with a real live baby?!

juicychops · 08/08/2010 20:10

i know, £300 from harrods. was that a fake baby clothes section or was it for real babies? the woman at the till didn't seem to be surprised that the baby she had in the pram was fake

i missed the beginning so i didn't hear the reasons for this strangeness, but i did find it quite sweet at how accepting the husbands were!

did feel sorry for the woman when she was wrapping the doll back up again after its head was broken. but cos they do look so real it looked like she was wrapping a baby up and strapping a nappy over its face!

The blonde woman seemed to prefer the idea of fake babies. She was quite worried about the mess real ones make Hmm

I have seen this programe a few times. I found myself getting (illogically) furious with the grandmother who wanted a copy of her grandson.

The programme made it look as though he had died and she did too. When I found out he had moved to Australia I wanted to put my foot thought the tv!

I got the feeling her DD moved there to get away from her clutches

I dont know why she angered me so much. She obviously missed him a lot. Maybe because I lost a child and felt I had been mislead?

Even when i watch the repeats it winds me up.

I thought the woman who makes the dolls was lovely though.

ohhh I watched this and I felt the same as mrsDevere.

The grandmother "relacing" her grandson, I found that too much. It did seem like he had died, when the programme revealed her daughter had beaten cancer and got a new life abroad. But then the grandmother revealed she'd had a copy of her grandson made as he had been taken away from her!??

It made me quite angered too but more that, it was like this woman was staking claim to her daughter's child, so much so that she "cloned" him I suppose. If that had been my mum I would have been quite cross about that.

But I can see that its just a love of dolls that escalates, I wish I could have lavished my DD that much but I wouldn't have dared but her in outfits like that for fear of vomit/poo so hats off to them for living out their dreams but still a bit weird for me!

So glad it wasnt just me thedoctors

I think the programme maker really knew what they were doing. The led us down the 'poor bereaved granny' path then up the 'controlling Granzilla' one.

The 'reborn' doll thing is harmless though. I came across it by accident when looking for stuff on ebay a few years back. I was totally Shock.
If it makes people happy, wheres the harm?

I thought it was all a bit strange and very sad.

I felt so sad for the wee grandson being shown his clone as if he could be easily replaced, poor boy,
