On now!

OP posts:

Yes, I hadn't realised that they were 4tune until they put up the 'text 4TUNE to blah blah' bit.

Am curious now, do any of you consider whether you would actually buy an album of a singer/band when you decide who you are supporting?

For example, I think Andy is brill, and am sure that he will do well, but I can't see myself actually buying anything that he releases. On the other hand, I currently could imagine buying something by 4tune or Journey South, and possibly Maria, though need to see more of the sort of stuff that she sings first.

Does anyone get what I mean?

Gobbledispook · 17/10/2005 12:45

Of bands etc that have been on these programmes before I've got Liberty X and Darius ()

I don't think there is anyone on this one that I'd buy...

tortoiseshell · 17/10/2005 12:55

Thinking through the various programmes, Lemar is huge now, Will Young has done really well, Girls aloud are still going, Liberty X are doing ok. Hayley Evetts (Pop Idol) is doing musicals now I think.

It is so true about the choice of song - Louis managed Girls Aloud didn't he? And do you remember the boy band from that programme? I'm sure Girls Aloud won because they had a funkier 'young street' sound than the old fashioned tripe Pete Waterman rolled out for his band.

tortoiseshell · 17/10/2005 12:56

Just seen this - fgs, get some perspective!

Bewitched · 17/10/2005 13:06

Oh how awful for them to have to wait a while before they get a chance to get pissed!!

I seem to have a shockingly large number of albums by singers from reality contests, but in my defence, I do buy a lot of albums generally! I have Darius too, and Will Young, and David Sneddon, and G4, and both Hearsay albums as well as Kym Marsh's solo effort (which I actually really like). Probably forgotten some others too.

I was really disappointed that One True Voice didn't get better and more singles to release. Daniel (the one who also played drums) was incredibly talented, and I would have loved to have had the opportunity to buy more stuff from him. Saw Jamie (young skinny spotty one) on some chat show a few weeks ago as he is releasing a solo effort, but don't know what happened to the rest of them.

Even Phixx (band made up of losing boys) seemed to do better than OTV. Probably helped by Mikey being incredibly dishy!

dillydally · 17/10/2005 13:33

It is always chico time in my house

weesaidie · 17/10/2005 13:36

No alcohol at all? Sorry but I think that is pretty harsh.

I do think Louis was an arse for not getting rid of Chico, although the addictive ladies were crap too. I just hate Chico!

Love Andy.

dillydally · 17/10/2005 13:39

I would have voted Addictiv ladies out but mainly because they spelt their name all wrong (without the e) and I can't abide these evil spellings
Obviously "4tune" will be next on my hit list (i could lure them with a large mirror into a locked cupboard)

flamebat · 17/10/2005 14:45

@ You with your addictiv and 4tune - why why why leave off the e?????

tortoiseshell · 17/10/2005 14:47

but ws, no alcohol hardly = POW camp

dillydally · 17/10/2005 14:52

Did you notice when Sharon doesnt really like someone she gives a really rubbish compliment? like to the "addictiv ladies" I am glad you dress like 17 yr olds and not 25 yr olds...

and if another judge says to the wannabes that they "own the stage / song" well I don't know what I am liable to do. - probably nothing.

weesaidie · 17/10/2005 15:31

Yes I know Tortoiseshell, comparing it like that is ludicrous! But I wonder if anyone actually said that exactly.

Not bad, but I would be a bit pissed off!

tiredemma · 17/10/2005 15:40

chico = cretin

TurQorTreat · 22/10/2005 18:53

I think Chico's been the best so far! Everyone else has been so nervous (except Andy who had a duff song) and Chico's the one who had most reason to be nervous, and gave the best performance.

Springchicken · 22/10/2005 18:57

Nicholas was great I think. Love that song.

Springchicken · 22/10/2005 19:20

Jeez, he was absolutely shocking ! The irish fella, not sure of his name. Awful

TurQorTreat · 22/10/2005 19:33

It'll be interesting if it comes down to Chico or Irish fella for the judges to choose - which will Simon go for?
He was a bit harsh on the irish boy, who was awful but he didn't have to be so blunt. But basically he (Simon) is spot on every single time and I am smitten!

Springchicken · 22/10/2005 19:34

EWWWWWW, no. Not Simon {YUK} {YUK}!

He is right most of the time though. Conway sisters were much better this week.

JoolsToo · 22/10/2005 19:48

dh had Shayne down as the winner from the auditions - I liked 4tune but they're not doing it at the moment.

So it's Shayne or Maria for me!

Philip was the worst tonight and that's saying something - Chico was actually alright - just!

That Shane chappie's going to get snapped up by some mogul, regardless of whether or not he wins.

Springchicken · 22/10/2005 19:59

He was great wasn't he!

So, who do we think it's going to be between?

Willow2 · 22/10/2005 20:01

I'll pretend with you - we can have a mogul partnershp. Actually, that might be a bit odd.

Bewitched · 22/10/2005 20:01

Shayne was fab tonight.
Also liked Journey South, but then they did do one of my top 10 tunes of all time!
Wasn't as keen on Maria as I was last week, but prob just down to the song.

Phillip should def go tonight. Wondering if he might be in bottom 2 with Chenai, as have a feeling that a few more people might vote for Chico tonight, and whilst there wasn't anything exactly wrong with Chenai's performance, I don't think it was particularly memorable.
