do you feel like a free taxi service with your teenagers ?

How many lifts for the older kids in one day is enough ? Are there any other mums that feel like there whole weekend is just one long stint of car lifts for your teenagers.?Sometimes they dont even deserve a lift but you are just glad to get rid of them for the day or night as well sometimes.

my dad used to say he was 'dad's taxis' He was always giving us lifts, I think it comes with having teenagers (wouldnt know myself, mine aren't old enough, guess I'll find out soon!!!!!)

I know exactly what you mean maltesers! We live in a tiny village 3 miles from anywhere so I am always in my car with my 2 teenagers. I cannot wait till DD1 starts to drive (not long now!!) because I seem to spend my life in my car ferrying around!

dd is only 10 and i feel like ive been a taxi for years.we live in a not so great part of london so i take her to school 4miles away but in rush hour that takes 30 mins then theres clubs and teas.secondary school is even further aaagh

Tell me about it! Actually it used to be far worse as we lived in a v. desirable but out of the way suberb with very little public transport. Last year we moved right in towards the centre of town with access to the metro and buses and it has made a huge difference to my life!

Actually not so "free" - they seem to ask for money just as they are getting out the car "just in case" !!!!!!!!!!!

We are currenty doing a 40 mile round trip to take ds1 to work at the weekends - sometimes 4 times if his shifts don't fit in with the buses. I'm finding it hard to moan too much to him as at least he's working but we are single handedly using up most of the Saudi oil fields. He did give me a tenner towards the petrol this week

My friend gave me a fridge magnet that says "If a mother's place is in the home, how come I'm always in the car?" We ferry dd1 about quite a lot but as we have no public transport at all and live in the countryside, we don't have much choice, so don't mind being a taxi service.

I told DS1 I didn't want him having a moped. So we are landed with taking him to/from work every weekend... 8am starts on a Sunday/ pick-ups halfway through Casualty (Still his sister was so much worse...thank god she's hundereds of miles away & not our problem )

my kids are all grown up and im still there blasted taxi!!!!!
