We are moving house on Friday because my 8 yr old DS is now at a fee paying school 18 miles away and the driving to and fro is terrible. Understandably my DD is digging her heels in and refusing to pack up any of her room. I can see that by Thursday evening she will still have done barely nothing and things will get pretty stressed. I do sympathise with her, as she has been at school and 6th from around here since she was 11. She has been an absolute teen terror from HELL, and still is. I feel its my fault as i left her Dad when she was 3yrs old. Our relationship is not good but time and time again i put up with her awful rudeness and turn the other cheek. I understand why she doesnt want to move, but she is leaving home in Sept to go to London University. Also, i know its not the ideal time as she has one more exam to do, which i will drive her over for.
I know this is a vague shot in the dark but have you any suggestions about how to tackle thing on Friday and Thursday night ??

Cheers Custardo... thats more like it. Paying for a to go on a nice day trip... i dont think so. She is earning more money than me at the pool lifeguarding. She buys clothes, shoes etc non-stop. Smokes and drinks etc. She is the biggest little Clubber in town. !!
"Pack her shit and fuck off"........you hard faced woman Custardo (JOKE) dear dear, you made me larf.....

If your DD is anything like mine she may be able to do it in a shorter time than you'd tink possible - my DD once left packing to go to uni until 10pm the night before - we told her we were leaving at 9am & she was ready - I think it took her till about 3am, but I'd gone to bed by then. I doubt if the packing would meet normal standards, but then it's her stuff...

Here,, Here RUSTYbear..... thats is prob what will happen.... thrown into bin liners and boxes.. Then she wont get up ...oh well, i will send in the removal men to pick up her bed with her in it. (joke) . I sound hard, but she is SO horrible to me, really.
I will encourage her to get her mates round to the new house and have them for night.... !! Hell, dam !

Lost all sympathy now i've seen that she caused you to be evicted in the past.

Kick her arse.

She is being a little cow today, so rude...disgraceful. The landlady had a fit when she came in to measure up my DDs bedroom carpet that has hair straaightener burn mark all over them. !! When i tell her off she just shouts me down. Roll on Sept when she goes to `Uni. My bills will go down immensely !!

She's 18, and has a job. Next time she's out clubbing, change the locks.

maltesers · 14/06/2009 21:49

Well i cant and wouldnt change the locks.... She needs a parents... has not lived with her Dad since she was 3 years... Someone has to be there for her. The bond betweeb mother and child is strong. No matter how awful they are you are always there for them..
Its 9.50 pm and she has just popped out with a friend to get something to eat. Hope when she gets out in this town with some mates she will start to settle and enjoy it through the summer..
My 8 yr old ds came back into new house today after 3 nights with his Dad. He seems happy and likes his bedroom.... thankgoodness !!
