Hi,Im morningsun, new to mums net and mum to a 15 yr old dd diagnosed with severe crohnsdisease/ulc colitis a few months ago.
As it has had a lot of effect on her well being[emotional and physical],schooling and us as a family as well as the tests, clinic appts and health issues I'd like to start a thread for anyone in a similar situation,to exchange tips and chat about difficulties etc
So welcome!

had the most brilliant visit from pead community nurse
she saw us both together, then my dd then me separately
she made me feel better that she is so confident and independent cos we brought her up that way
said were normal teenage issues on top of her illness
gave her card in case dd needs a chat
i feel a lot better
feel i can get in touch if problem
i love the nhs!

To add, I'm working with an 18 year old who has chrone's disease, and only some of the staff know because of her mum. She's fantastic, works very hard, is very committed and flexible. I hope, that she would say chrone's is not the end of the world. We appreciate her and she is a valued member of our team

Also, she's going to be supporting us for a while
She organised dd to do her own repeat prescriptions and had a chat about her missing her tablets etc
Its the first time since she was an in patient i've felt someone gave me a bit of support, its really helped
just shows what can happen when you ask for help
