without being forced/dragged out?

My ds lives in his , and has to be forced out. I never see him unless I make him come out.

Are they all like this? His excuse is, he's a "teenager" . I undestand his need for space, but feel like I have lost him completely........

He's 15 in Dec

at least you know where he is

not out mugging grannies or getting pissed on cheap cider

what he is doing in his bedroom though is perhaps best not to speculate about

scaryfucker · 04/11/2008 21:29

I can't keep my teenage dd in

tis a worry

2shoeshissbangwhoosh · 04/11/2008 21:30

howodd, I just asked dh if he thought ds had got stuck in his rooma, as we haven't seen him for hours

scaryfucker · 04/11/2008 21:34

he isn't shinning down the drainpipe is he?

just a thought

are you sure he is there? Maybe he has put a pillow in the bed (remembers own teenage years)

Suedonim · 04/11/2008 21:43

Ds1 went into his room when he was 12 and didn't emerge, except for nutritional and educational purposes, until he was 15. Then he discovered parties and we didn't see him again until he was 18!

NotanOtter · 04/11/2008 21:44

does he have a tv or games in bedroom fizzbuzz?

fizzbuzz · 04/11/2008 21:50

Oh yes, he has an xbox, and his laptop which he MSN's on all the time.

I know he's not out mugging grannies, and it is a relef knowing where he is....but whenever I try to talk to him about it, he says

"I am a teenager, this is what teenagers do"
and obviously they do, as someone is always on MSN. I keep hearing the little ping as he receives a message when I am in there trying to do weird stuff like talking

He seems quite content and happy, no probs at school or socially. He will emerge to forage for food, and is aways plesant enough...so perhaps I am just a needy mother

oh he sounds like ds, he will be up there on the xbox 360 and msn'ng at the smae time

SugarBird · 04/11/2008 22:01

Sounds like ds1 - amazing how they can multitask electronically (xbox, msn, mobile phone) but struggle with polysyllabic conversation. Oh, and the washing up...

fossa · 04/11/2008 22:09

I was worried that DS wasn't meeting up with mates from school Then I realised he was gaming online with them up there. It's better than hanging out in a freezing cold bus shelter, trying to smoke and exchanging lovebites like his mother did like I believe some teenagers do, sometimes.

Tortington · 04/11/2008 22:12
