no that the point he choses a family meal for his birthday

we have offered paintball , go karte , swimming, dry slope skiiing , but he just chose for me .; dh , dd and him to go for a meal ?????????

Isn't all the attention and pressure that comes with a party a bit embarrassing when you're 14? I don't remember having any birthday parties between the ages of about 8 and 18.

it could be , but he also hates eating out in public in busy places too , he will kick off on one and storm out rather than eat ,maybe he just embarased

hes lulling you into a false sense of security

the little buggers waiting till you go out, then all hell will break loose

on the other hand, perhaps he is just a nice kid who likes spending time with his family, don't sweat it, just enjoy it!

I hated eating in front of people at that age too. My first boyfriend's mum actually rang my mum and asid she was worried I was anorexic. Which my mum assured her I wasn't.

God, the poor woman would put a beautifully cooked meal in front of me and I'd refuse to eat it and say I wasn't hungry. How hideous is that. I bet she felt like punching me.

It's all very normal, I'm sure.

we had awful time on holiday eating out at different places it was a nightmare and bit embarasing too

gawd, I still remember the roast chicken and veg I refused at a friends parents...

..well i managed to eat the first helping, then they offered me more, I was still starving but too embarrassed to accept seconds. How stupid can you get?

Enjoy the fact he wants to have a meal with you. Since my DD's were about 15 they have just gone out with thier mates, But they still like to have a birthday mael with us.
