She started about a month ago but eating (nibbling) her breakfast. Now its nothing at all. Just lunch and dinner. Any discussions we have end with me asking her to eat breakfast and with her saying she doesn't enjoy eating it anymore.

Don't want to make too big a deal about it...but it's getting to be a habit. Any ideas....I'm really worried. thanks

I put a thread on asking a similar question ,after trying everything.
So far,dd2 (11) is still being taken to school by car (she was throwing up on the bus)and takes 20p foe a couple of rounds of toast at school. So she eats ,3 hours later and then has a school dinner.

I dont have any proof that she is eating, and shes never had a great appetite, so I was wary but as long as she is happy at school i can play the long game here and hold off a bit.

This might be mad and if so please ignore but have you tried giving her a lighter dinner, to make her hungrier in the mornings? It sometimes works for small children. Obviously not an option if you're worried she's not eating enough.

Also is she getting dressed before (not) eating breakfast? Showering and dressing etc can bring on a bit of an appetite.

My 18 year old went through a phase of not eating breakfast, She still does not eat cereal but will eat a babana or toast. The 16 year old has now started not eating breakfast but she will take a cereal bar or banana to eat on the bus to college.
I found it is best to just let them make thier own decisions.

Along the cereal bar type theme - how about some home made flapjacks. you could make a weeks worth as they keep quite well, and she could eat it at break time if she can't face it first thing. It is sugary, but full of good things too. My DCs are little, but they sometimes have something like this as a snack with a smoothie/milk.

Ds age 13 doesnt like regular breakfast food very much. He gets up and gets washed and dressed whcih gets him more in the mood for eating. Meanwhile I make breakfast and he has raw fruit and veg & left over meat from the night before, or maybe he will have leftover egg fried rice, pizza whatever. He just doesnt do toast, cereal, milk, youghurt and stuff like that, so I just went along with giving him what he would eat normally. He doesnt always eat much so I stick it back in the fridge for when he gets home.

Good luck, its diificult time, when all you want is to make sure they are ok.
