Bless her she's only 12 and her skin is already not good.

Clearasil products are nasty, really strip her skin.

Witch / Tea tree products don't seem to do much.

Freederm doesn't seem to do anything.

Does anyone use this Nivea Young stuff?

I bought her some Tea Tree foaming stuff from Body Shop last week and her face has come up all red and sore.

Any recommendations?

try acne.org for the regime that cleared up my acne.
steer clear of wipes! they wreck my skin.

my boys use clearisil the ULTRA ones can be a bit burny

dd is above washing she thinks she does not need to

I found this really great cleanser in boots (own brand). It's witch hazel and tea tree. My dd (12)has quite blocked pores on her nose and was beginning to get a few pimples. This stuff really cleared them up.

She uses a cream cleanser or makeup wipe first to get off any makeup (only wears a little)then this stuff which acts as both cleanser and toner.

Clinique antiblemish solutions - there is a full range of products. Works really well without stripping skin and making the problem worse.

And absolutley scrupulous daily hair-washing. Hair kept off the face, especially at night.

My daughter had dreadful spots and then started to use all products in the Amie range from superdrug, it says it was made for a daughter by her mum , for young skin.Dont know about that but it does the job . She had tried all of those reccomended above . We also went to the dr's and she was given anti b's twice when her skin was really bad.
It is also said that using wipes daily strips young skin and causes more spots because the skin is so dry it makes more moisture and greasy(cant think of the correct word) to hyrdrate the skin.
Hope this helps.

I secnd Liz earles cleanse and polish...my tgwo teenage dds use it and tey have ovely skin ( but both are at the age where spots can rear their ugly heads if skin isn't kept scrupulously clean)

sayithowitis · 05/09/2008 16:22

Liz Earle does a great range of natural products which are really good for young skin. There is a kit especially for young skin which contains everything she will need to get started. Watch out though, my mum bought me a starter kit about five years ago and I have bneen hooked on it ever since! here

Baby powder. Don't laugh, I have awful skin and use it myself. You put it on before you go to sleep, and it dries and shrinks the spots, takes redness down etc. Smells lovely too
