dd 12 is having "falling out " issues with school, hates everyone because they are always arguing and shouting, hates school, not happy and is miserable all the time.
I am sure (as I can be) that there are no bulling other issues going on.....

Is it normal for teenagers to be miserable, moody, unenthusiastic about everything ( I could give her the moon on a stick and it would be - whatever....)doesn't like talking to me because I "go on", just wants to be left alone.... I want to be there for her but it is so hard at times to be constantly rebuffed and I am sick of being the cheerleader, its so wearing

How did you/are you dealing with this any advice???

It will get better. Yes it is normal for them to be obnoxious. Just be firm, but kind and don't take any shit. It will pass in 7 years time.

Give her space.

I think sometimes they like to overplay how terrible life is. On Tuesday, my ds had had a "dossy" day at school, ie all easy/nice subjects, came home, had favourite meal, went in friend's pool, was having great laugh, then karate which he loves.

At night, I said so did you have a good day?

"Oh, it was all right, I suppose. Bit boring."

It's almost as though they're afraid to admit to being happy sometimes, they'll always pick out the negative and ignore the positive. DS didn't used to be like this and am hopeful it is a phase.

Re. your dd falling out with people at school, I'd try not to worry too much. Friendships seem to ebb and flow at this age, a best friend seems to last about 3 months, but will often become a best friend again 6 months later.

Are things any better, DM?

DD is 12.Having same problems with her falling out with friends.Never able to speak without her snearing, shuts herself in her room,or is on msn or bebo all the time, though i am monitoring that as computer now in the kitchen and not in her bedroom.

yes it is very wearing and husband away alot in next job in August!!.Just read her the riot act,but not holding breath.hmm

keep telling myself it can't be like this forever, she will develop into a lovely person again in her mid to late teens perhaps?.hmm
