London parents - do you let your teenage daughters get Ubers?

I have a 14 year old who has a more active social life than me. If she’s going to a party or a friends house I try my hardest to be able to pick her up. But occasionally with younger kids in the house it’s not possible. She thinks she should be able to get an uber home. I have horror stories of minicab drivers in my youth. But am I being too paranoid. You can track an uber and I can talk to her the whole way home. Would love to hear what others do.

I don’t.
From 16 some of her friends were allowed - but I don’t know anyone who was ok with it when they were 14.

Now she’s 17 I am only ok with it with two people going to the exact same address (i.e not one getting dropped off first), but think I’m in the minority now.
If you need a compromise could you suggest a friend comes back to yours to sleepover?

I actually didn't think under 18s were allowed to be in Ubers unaccompanied so I never thought it was an option.

Yes - but not alone to begin with. We had an incident where she was supposed to sleep over but something happened and the only way I could get her home was an uber. Tracked it all the way and was fine. She’s almost 16 and she takes them if no other option but it is last resort.

Yes from 16 and my son from 14. I track their journeys and feel much happier with Ubers than with regular cabs

I wouldn’t. I don’t take them alone myself. I’ve had more than one friend assaulted by an uber driver.

Yes, usually back from babysitting. She rings me and we usually chat. Usually with others if possible though. It is tracked and it’s usually no more than a 10 minute journey. Safer than walking surely? She sits in the back.
