Has anyone done a ski season post Brexit

My DD wants to do a ski season, but doesn’t have an EU passport. It looks like Canada might be an option - has anyone had any experience of this with their DC?

I'm not clear how an EU passport specifically changes things? What is the issue? Are you concerned about queuing or something else?

I think point is working in EU. I was talking to the reps on our recent inghams ski holiday - they say different companies have different rules on how much of a problem it is.

Have to say we got our DC Irish passports as my mother is Irish and still voted for Brexit. So it's her fault we had too 😄

My friend's niece had to cancel her original plans as she couldn't make it work with the 30 day requirements.

She went to Canada instead - so not too much hardship!

Does seem a really silly unintended consequence though. Its also an issue for PGL type places in the summer with watersports instructors.

They're talking about going for a whole season (which isn't possible for uk citizens any more due to the rules around 90/180 days)

Sorry for not being clearer, I am talking about going out to work a ski season in Europe. I hear that this is not so easy for a UK passport holder as it used to be, as they don’t have the right to work in the EU.

It’s almost impossible now, from what we have observed in various French resorts.

The family tour operator Esprit used to employ lots of young British people but have now ceased operating that brand. There seem to be more young Irish people working in ski resorts now. Plus of course French people, as before.

FakeTwix Canada does seem to be an option. Do you know how she went about it?

I don't but I can ask

I know she was set on France but couldn't get a job without a visa and couldn't get a visa without a job!

I’m not sure about ski season, although I’ve known a couple of older teens (18+) au pair in Switzerland in ski areas , the work visa is issued by the local canton and requires them to take do some hours of local language lessons but it is an easy process and the host families generally handle the paperwork and contracts through their own Swiss agencies.
and yes this is post Brexit.
The au pair work can be fairly light as it’s quite regulated as to hours etc.
