Anxiety and Pill 17 Year Old

My 17 year old daughter has been in her first relationship since Feb this year, she started Rivagedon in July, period break in September, totally loved up then the week before Christmas she had her pill break and has been anxious and depressed ever since and overthinking.

Xmas dance no interest in finding an outfit, in bed an hour before it then on a massive guilt trip for speaking to another boy who she wasn’t interested in, never went to a house party that weekend and has since broken up with the boyfriend tonight and both are absolutely devastated.

i took her to docs on 23rd Dec and they changed the pill, it hasn’t really helped much I have told her to stop taking it tonight.

She is normally very resilient. Had the usual issues at school with friends being excluded (has a great wee group and social life now) and two years ago was diagnosed as type 1 diabetic. It’s not been easy but she has coped well and hasn’t needed any mental health intervention.

Anyone experienced this with their teen? I’ll give a week or two and see how she is and take her to docs off not any better.

Hate seeing her upset and he is a lovely boy who is also devastated, also concerned for exam. She didn’t want to break up but came help how she feels and is hysterical. Can’t figure out if it’s the grieving process or something else. She speaks to me and her dad openly and has assured us she’s is nothing else and I think she’s now herring herself into a panic in her head.

Any advice appreciated pls xx

There is quite a bit of information online that links it to anxiety. I’ve had two different pills which have made me feel incredibly low (and both times it took me a while to figure out what it was) so stopping for the time being sounds best and then talking to the doctor as there should be options that are better for her.
